All the fat rimmed wheels have that thick steel plate center, but not all thick plated center wheels have a fat rim.
The later stamped sheetmetal centered wheels have only thin rims.

1- yes the trim can be fitted when the glass is in. Any old-school body shop will have the specific wire tool for that.

2- next time, pull a rear side window. Easier to put back in.
