Don't answer this ad. It's already home.

I get up this morn, pour some coffee and go to the computer and log on. The daily ritual is Recyler.com first.

This is what I see. Drop everything, call the guy, get him out of bed and say I'm comin' down. Get there and he has a 2.4 T (911/51) complete with MFI and HE's. BUT, it's full of water, been sitting out w/o the air filter cover in the rain. I think, well, that's a big problem, but what the hell.

"It's full of water, will you take $300?"

"OK."

"Let me back my truck up."

And so went the day.

This is the 3rd one I've found. I think I'll keep this one.

The L.A. recycler ROCKS!! I scored my rebuilt 915 ltd. slip, outright, for $900.00 including (2) U.S. H-4s, and (2) perfect 993 aero mirrors, (electric), that I sold for $300.00. Guy was giving stuff away, didn't know his values, I got there first.

I must be doing something wrong -- I click on the link and it comes up with a '90 Ford Bronco, and he's asking $200. So let me get this straight, you paid $300 for a Bronco that was full of water, when the guy was asking $200? I'd love to rejoice with you, to share in your excitement, but I seem to be missing something important...

You're right. The link changed. Probably since he sold the motor, he pulled the ad down. Otherwise, it worked yesterday. Doesn't make much difference, it was a good deal and I'm part way to having a six in my 914. You know who made out better on this deal but doesn't know it yet? Wayne and Tom. I spend $300 for a motor and now I'm on the hook for $1000's to rebuild and convert the 914. So, every windfall has it's other side.

Yeah, that's what I figured. So should I congratulate you for a good score, or try to console you for the loss of thousands for the rebuild?

Great Scoop!
Love stories like this.
That's a cool website too.
What other websites do you frequent?
Give us some more links; anyone?

Around here I get the 'bargain finder' in print for a buck or two.

Good Luck with your new project!

FYI you can't link an item in the recycler and expect it to come up right. I don' know why but it usually shows something else. That's why i usually cut and paste or supply search instructions.
