Automatic Transmission Lines
Anybody know where I can purchase the auto trans lines that run up to the radiator (both feeder and return lines). I have the original crimp styles that are starting to leak. Supposedly there is a new design that doesn't use crimping.
I need the line sections that run across the motor and connect to the radiator. Thanks. Pelican, do you sell these? I couldn't find them on your site. |

I to have a verry mild leak in these lines, more like a seepage then a leak. I will soon have to do the same thing you are. But as a note when you say 944 auto get ready for blank stares and on some parts much higher prices. Try http://*********** they will hvae it but often take their sweet time getting it to you.

I have the same problem, one of my ATF lines up near the exhaust manifold has sprung a leak. And soon I will have an under the hood bonfire if I don't do something or quit driving the car. Does anyone have a line (excuse the pun) on where the aforementioned ATF cooler lines can be had? Or is this something I can get fabricated?

Hi, I was able to repair my brittle cooler line that went to the radiator on my auto 924s by cutting the crimp band connector very carefully on both sides and repalcing it with a correct rubber hose that wouldn't break down with atf running through it and using 2 stainless band clamps on either end and didn't have a problem when done. I cut the hose first on the tranny cooler side and then unscrewed the fitting and then removed the crimmed on band clamp with a dremel tool and a cutting wheel. NAPA should carry a suitable hose for you as well.

So basically you reused the conectors at each end and replaced the hose only and secured with hose clamps? In addition to the two ATF lines, there is one PS line leaking I could do the same with. Very innovative. I shall give it a try. Thanks! |

Hi, yes that is what I did. I did make sure that I got the proper hose for this application though in diamiter and also so it wouldn't break down rubber wise. I was able to buy the hose at a place that specializes in hoses but believe that NAPA or any autoparts store would carry your power steering and ATF hose (maybe both would be the same) and would sell by the foot.

My Auto cooler lines were leaking from the clamps. I simply cut off the factory clamps (with a small cutting wheel) removed and replaced the rubber hose and fitted normal Wurth hose clamps - all fixed. Mind you, the ones on top of the Auto need the Auto to be removed to gain access.

I guess I can take care of the lines up front, but doggone I just had the tranny out a year ago.
I went out to the friendly autoparts store this morning to get the clamps and hose. They sold me ATF hose and not fuel line because fuel line will degrade and get mushy from ATF fluid. Something else to watch out for! |

These from the porsche dealer run 112. And 160. For new ones and they can get them in 2 to 3 days

A local hydraulic hose repair shop can help you out. Look in the yellow pages for one near you.
