Taycan Owners here?
Hi,
I wanted to hear from the Taycan owners here your experiences with the car. Range, charging, known issues and how they are holding up in the cold. My next Porsche will probably be a Cross Turismo (as a second car) so looking for real world experiences. I wish it had longer range, but I think they are awesome looking cars. Driven a 4S and Turbo and enjoyed the driving, but never really got into the EV side of them. I know they have issues with the heaters, but are there other issues? Thanks in advance.

No one? Or you just don’t want to admit it
Reading the Taycanforum, nothing but nightmares…

I just bought a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo.
Epic car. Just epic. No problems so far. Seems like most problems have been sorted out by now and it was the pre 2022 models affected. I bought from a Porsche dealer with extended warranty - I would not buy a Taycan or any electric car without manufacturers warranty. Go ahead and buy one - you will not regret it. |

Great to hear you’re considering a Taycan Cross Turismo, they really are stunning cars, and Porsche nailed the driving experience.
Real-world feedback from Taycan owners is mostly positive. Range-wise, it's a bit below some other EVs, especially in colder climates, you’ll probably see around 180–220 miles depending on how and where you drive. The Turbo and 4S feel great, but the range does take a hit with spirited driving. |

Charging is quick if you’ve got access to high-speed DC stations (Porsche’s 800V architecture helps a lot), but home charging setup is key for convenience.

As for issues, yes, the heater has been a common one, especially in early models. Some also report software glitches, infotainment lag, or 12V battery quirks. But overall, reliability seems to be improving with updates.
Cold weather performance is decent with the right tires, but range dips noticeably, that’s just EV life for now. If it’s your second car and you love the drive, the Taycan Cross Turismo is hard to beat. Just go in knowing the EV trade-offs. |
