ABS Removal / delete.
Just bought a clean 05 K1200S with 19k miles on the odometer for cheap.
Doing some research for info to removal/delete on these later servo-assist ABS. Has any K1200 or 1300 owners done ABS removal/delete? ![]()

Go to K-bikes.com - There are several riders there who can assist you with that and a ton of info on the subject.
If you're doing this because you prefer not to have ABS, then so be it. But if you're doing this because there's a problem with it, then it might to be easier than you think to repair, it and a lot less expensive than removing it. These modules usually fail due to lack of proper maintenance, which gums up the internal filters and impedes flow. Simple and gentle cleaning of the filters, along with a good flushing, could be all you need to solve the problem. There are also some YouTube videos on how to clean ABS Module filters.

I've never been a fan of the servo assist ABS on these BMWs.
Previous to this K1200S, I had R1150RS, I removed the servo pump & ABS unit from it, experienced much better brake performance, less electrical draw & shed some weight off the bike. All I needed was re-route the brake lines, a relay bypass to keep the speedo working.. I think when the ABS pump goes kaput, I will do the same on this K1200S.
