Transmission Cooler Fittings

I have a 2011 328i with the GM transmission. Does anyone know how to disconnect the transmission fluid lines from the transmission cooler. I want to change the fluid in my transmission.

The cooler is buried and very hard to get to. The fitting that connects the hoses to the cooler is a type that I have not seen before. I made several attempts to try to get them off with no luck. Not wanting to break them I gave up. Any advice would be appreciated.
