Fuel Leak 09 528i
Hello,
I bought a 09 528i for my daughters birthday and have been going through it trying to get ahead of any issues. I found that there is a slight fuel smell on the drivers side near the rear tire. I crawled under and noticed a small bit of goo under the tank that smells like fuel. No drips or clear line of fuel leakage though. I am hoping that it is just the fuel sender on top that's cracked or something. Are there any other known issues that I should look for? Thanks

It was the drivers side fuel filter located under the rear seat. The nipple was cracked at the base.

Congrats to your daughter!
I just picked up a 2008 528xi as well as a spare vehicle for when family comes and visits. thanks for the info on the fuel leak... I got the ABS/TRACTION/light up the dash warning, turns out it wheel speed sensors. Bought some cheap ones but they were DOA. I finally replaced both sides with good quality ones and so far so good. I was hoping to avoid sending the module out to get rebuilt..... Cheers P |
