I'm going to help people who don't know how to use the links posted above. In all of the fury of approval this car should be getting, you might miss the pictures. WOW ~

I spoke to bazzmc about this car in JUNE. I can't believe it's still around yet with that reasonable price...! Especially since it's a 1989 model that shouldn't have any inherent faults.

I can spell it for you.... "MONEY" ~ People have to have the money. The sticking point is certainly $19,999.99 since for low $20's you can buy a decent Turbo Porsche. I happen to LOVE this color. Like the Brocade Red BMW 740il I just sold. Precious color! I think the PX has to drop but not by much. This car in 5 years will fetch $25k but today, to move it expeditiously, probably sub-$20k, and at thtat price knowing it's going to be worth MORE. This is a brilliant example.

Beautiful color. Seems to be priced on the low side. If it's as nice as it appears to be, it will sell soon. Good Luck.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about all of your lowballers...it's an unfortunate part of selling a Porsche. (I "sold" a Boxster this spring...talk about low ball offers!!! ) It seems the market for nice condition Porsches is a little slim right now...everybody wants one cheap or they don't want one at all. Yours is just another example, I'm afraid. But this is why I say stay patient...it make take a little longer to move your car.

When I sold the Boxster I placed ads here, on Rennlist.com (I'm a member there), through the PCA (local and national), autotrader.com, cars.com, my local paper, and sent out e-mails to all the people I know, regardless of whether or not they were shopping for cars. (..maybe they knew somebody who was?) I also actually tried to sell the Boxster on eBay. It may not actually garner a sale through eBay, but it's a hell of a lot of exposure to a broader "market" than might be available anywhere else. The downside, of course, is you get more low ballers.

For ads like this one, try to keep it on the top page or two with regular bumps or updates. (Honestly, if I were looking and saw an ad placed three months ago, I might assume the car was sold?)

That's about all the advice I can offer...hope it helps. Maybe post on the 911 Technical Forum and ask that very question..."what else can I do to sell my car?" Good luck!

What???? You expect him to take $900.01 for that great looking 911? You really think you can get a 930 in like condition for $20,000? Oh sure, you can get a ratty 911 for less than $15,000. But it will cost more in the end than starting with a nice, pristine example like this one. There must be a lot of people in Seattle that are still unemployed from the dot-com collapse five years ago.

And no, there is no affiliation to the car, the seller, or any potential buyers.

Bump.

IMO you shouldn't sell this car for under $20k. If you're not getting offers it's because it's the end of the summer. Relist it in March/April and it'll be a different story.

I looked for many months for a nice, bone stock Carrera and I can tell you that a lot of cars have all kind of stories and many aren't in very good condition. I had sellers be no-shows on PPIs that I had arranged, not return my phone calls after I asked standard questions, "private sellers" misrepresent themselves as dealers, etc. And many of the nice clean Carreras get snapped up by dealers who want $30K. Sell the car to Victory Motorcars in TX and they'll probably turn around and try to sell it for $5k more.

The right person will come along with cash and buy the car. It's just a matter of time.

I agree that there are not many cash buyers out there, but there are a lot of 2nd mortgage/revolving credit lines out there where cash is pretty easy to obtain for a $22k 911...

Geography must be coming into play on this car. In my area, $22.9k is dead on pricing for a nice '89 coupe with 80k on the clock. Sub $20k G-50 coupes are usually high mileage cars with issues (again, in my area). Selling this car at $19k or $20k is just plain giving it away in my book.

I just talked with another PCA member in my area that I know that concours' his cars. He had his extremely mint, 20,000 mile 1995 993 Cab for sale for over a year. He wanted almost $50k for it, which was extremely overpriced, even for my area. He just sold it last month for $45k which was well over market price to someone who wanted exactly what he had. (I judged the car several times and it was essentially "as new" with no blemishes anywhere - my God, the car was perfect). He was patient and stuck to his pricing. So, patience will probably reward bazzmc too if he can hold out for the one person that finds value in this nice '89 G50 coupe.

(another free bump!)

Jay
