914-6 engine mount

Hey all,

I highly doubt anybody is going to have info on this, but here goes. Does anybody out there have a picture of their original 914-6 engine mount system? I have most of the parts, but am wondering what I'm missing? If not a picture, an exploded view parts diagram would be even better.

A few months back I found some parts lying around the garage that were given to me when I bought the -6 motor and trans. I know they are part of the engine mount system, and I can kind of comprehend how they fit together, but I'd love a diagram or pic to be sure.

Thanks, John!

You wouldn't happen to have the part numbers associated with that image by chance, would ya?

The other question is does anybody have the piece that is welded to the firewall/bulkhead lying around? I used to have one many years ago that I had cut out of a -6, but sold it (like an idiot) thinking I'd never need it.

914/6 engine mount

I borrowed an original one and had a replica made to weld to the firewall. Much tidier than anything else aftermarket I've seen.

I still need the item 20 in that diagram if anyone can help!

Part # 914 375 057 00.

Thanks

Yeah, I got part #20. I'll snap some shots of it and post them. It might be somewhat easy to fabricate also.

I thought about fabricating the mount that attaches to the firewall. Having owned one, I know it isn't an intricate piece of metal. Problem is finding one that someone has off the vehicle. Or one that somebody has drawings and measurements on.

I assume you already welded yours into the vehicle? Heck, I could probably build one from memory, but it sure would be nice to have even a detailed pic...

Rob or Mike,
If you have that part in good order I'd be interested. Post the pics.

Oh, I'd love to, if I could figure it out. I just snapped some sweet shots of the parts, but don't know hwo to get them onto the post. I haven't done it in quite awhile and the process has changed...

Thanks, Ballgofar.

Pic one is part #13. The other pics show different views of parts # 16, 17 and 20.

You can see that on my mount, the large piece in pics two and three are eaten away, courtesy of the guy I got the parts from not knowing that the acid bath that he dropped them into to remove the rust and paint from the part was going to eat all the nice aluminum center of the mount.

Rob-O

If you want to sell me part #20 please email me direct so we can discuss price and shipping arrangements.
Part 16 being the rubber block should be able to be bought new still. I got a new one here for the equivalent of $US 90 ex Germany from the local dealer.

That acid sure does the job though!!!

Wilco.
