Thanks, Jim!

You guys are the best. I didn't want to leave it there if it was insecure, as it will be up there for a week or so.

Is that the front of the A arm or the back outside edge?

The front, right next to the A/C evaperator or whatever that grill thing is under the bumper.

This is safe with 4 stands for a week or so, right?

It good for an indefinite period of time provided the back jack stands are on the rear torsion bar ends. Jim

The rear was easy, I had problems getting the jack stands under the tbar tube ends. The front was a different story..... It is really low, and there is no easy way to jack it up and put the stand under the same point. I had to get creative with a few 2X4's under the tire.

Thanks again to everyone, I feel better that it won't collapse over night! (or over the next week)

I was told the best spot in the front end of the car was at the "bend" behind the front wheels where three layers of sheet metal meet.

That's the place I use when doing major front suspension work. Obviously you can't use the location depicted above AND remove the a-arm. I place a piece of plywood between the jackstand and the body to distibute the load and prevent damaging the belly.

That grill thing under the bumper is the front condensor for the A/C.

Thanks, ruf. I knew it was part of the A/C system. I could probably remove it, anyway, since my A/C stopped wrking about a year ago. The funny thing was, it stopped just a few days after I removed the compressor.... Coincidence? I think not!

Right behind the front wheel well in the corner is a small square section underneight that the 911 manual tells you to use it to lift the car.

I am unable to get a jack under my front end, but I can get it to this spot. IS it safe to lift the car at that point?? (I have done it, but want to make sure its safe)

I wish someone would take a photo of the underside of the car, circle the jack & jack stand points (using Photoshop), and post it on a permanent web page....

That is the correct spot. That is the same location as my my car but there are no plates in the earlier cars. I am not sure when they added the plates.

This "square section", are you talking about the area about 5" x 5" in the front corners of the floor pan...just aft and inboard of the front tires?

I believe I've located this area, just want to be sure. Don't want to end up wearing my p-car as a hat.

Great shots, Rick! This is exactly what I was hoping to find out.

Thinking about putting my car up on stands through the winter to work on some projects. This is awesome, THANKS!!!

Lift point:

Stand point:
Lift and stand point: (Stand w/arrow)
I usually just use the jack and adapter and lift from the side and place the stands under the car.
