bilstein firehawk or Koni yellows
I have the koni yellow sport stuts with ride height adjustable perches as well as one new and unused Bilstein firehawk strut. I have not mounted either on the car. I was wondering what peoples opinions are on the Bilstein Firehawk strut vs. the Koni yellows. I do the occasional auto cross, no drivers ed, and certainly no racing. I have an 87 944S, with transmission and flywheel from same, and a 968 engine. The car currently has the 87 factory ( completely worn out on one side) struts and springs. I like the idea of the adjustability that the Koni's have but somehow feel that the bilstein might be a better made strut. I am considering selling the koni yellows and buying another new Bilstein Firehawk. I have both koni yellow rears as well as the yellow rears with the helper spring and adjustable perch. I am using 17 inch Michelin PS2's. I am aware either option will provide me with much better handling than my worn factory set up, but I am a little affraid that the non adjustable Bilsteins may be too harsh. Can anyone compare them to the Yellows on full stiff?
