Let me know and thanks! Just found out car was hit and just had body damage but it's too far away to look at it and not want it. Don't think I'm intereste.

lol... I am sure any of us that own a computer, have an Internet connection, and own a money pit could afford the couple dollars for a Carfax. There are a lot of people that have regular accounts for their automotive business that can run it for you at no additional cost to them. Why spend money on a Carfax when you can use it on your car!

This is a friendly site where fellow Porsche lovers get together to help each other out. It looks like you might be newer to the site. You'll find a great group of people here that help each other more than anyone would ever believe.
Some of these guys have been known to travel a couple hundred miles or more to help people fix their cars. Many of these people on here have also been kind enough to lend expensive tools to other members across the country with nothing more than their good word that they would send the tool back when they were done. A lot of great friendships have been built here. Some people on here have millions of dollars while others have none. So anytime someone can help a fellow P car lover it is always a good thing! If you are looking for a forum to argue with people or degrade them then please leave our forum. In the years that I have belonged to this forum I have never seen this happen. I do understand if they do not want Carfax info on here, but please do not degrade other members and their financial capacities. I hope this was just a misunderstanding on my behalf. Have a great day!

Im sorry if i came across as being degrading but i see a car fax as necessary as a new timingbelt in certain cases. I will try to choose my word choices better next time. No hard feelings on this end.

my 2 cents:
in plum's defense, he was just asking for some help. if anyone did a carfax (like the deal where you get 10 for a discount) and had an extra one, maybe they could use it for him this one time if he only needed this one and only carfax. but also, carfax is a valuable tool, and should not be skipped on either. investing your money into a car is something you want to take pre-cautions on, not to go and skip. imo, all he was asking was for a spare one, and if you dont have it then you dont have it. but if you do, HEY !! your helping out another member just as icey1174 has said because this board is known to do that. ![]()

That is what I was looking for, anyone with a spare that might go to waste if not used.
I was considering a car that was located several hours away. I know lots of people have carfax accounts and may have a couple reviews to spare so I asked. Sure, it's only a couple bucks to run one but why not try to save some $ and see if a fellow P car enthusiast could help. Members ask others to look at cars and I have seen people ask for help with a carfax before so I thought why not ask.

I saw this recently and could possibly help. It may not give the complete information as CarFax. Review the Demo. $2.50 per inquiry if your state participates.

Plum, any idea how bad the accident was? Just a fender bender or a lot worse? Check to see if the title is a salvage title or not as well.

They said it was just body damage. With the car being about 4-5 hours away I decided
to pass. The price just seemed too good to be true.
