Can anyone tell what type of head the subject bolt has. Mine is neither Allen nor Phillips type and I need to adjust the position of the plate as the door is not shutting properly.
Thanks for any help. Dean-Bilbao, Spain |

Hi Dean,
The bolts will be a 12 point socket commonly called a "triple-square". In the US local auto parts suppliers will carry the tools. If you can not find them locally, There are a few online places that sell them. Our host has them in the "tools" section.

Be sure that the door-side latch mechanism Philipps head screws are very tight. They thread into a captive nut inside that often breaks loose.
If you cannot get them to tighten, you will need to go into the door and hold the bolts from the inside. Use blue Loctite to hold everything in place. Keep in mind that no adjustment can be made with the doorside mechanism -- it is all in the plate you are working with. Finally, check out the plastic roll that sits over the round section on the plate you are working with. It should be there and it should be snug. Best of luck, John

As Dean said, they're pretty easy to find. And as long as there's no other problems, as John suggested, it's straight forward.
The best way to adjust (in and out) is to losen those bolts with the proper tool, until the plate can move around, but not too lose to where it's sloppy. Then gently close the door while holding the trigger in, so that it doesn't latch. Then gently push on the door handle until it the door edge lines up with the body to your liking. Then while continuing to hold the trigger in, gently open the door and tighten the plate where it is. I hold it slightly; pushing against it so it doesn't move while you're tightening the bolts. Shut door as normal and open beer! Hehehe
