F/S - Recaro SRD Speed Seat Black

Nice pair of Recaro SRD seats that were taken out an 89 track car that I used for DE events.

Both seats are in good condition and have no rips or tears. The inside recline knobs were removed so that the seats could clear the Pcar console.

Price is $1000 for the pair rails are not included.

Please PM me if you have any questions

Been getting a whole bunch of questions and offers on the seats.

Seats are located in Linden Hill, NY 11354 (30 minutes Northeast of NYC) local members are more than welcome to see them or do a PU

They were in a 1990 Carrera and fit fine.

To the lowballers......my seats are made in Germany!!!

The newer ones are made in Mexico, you will end up paying more money and from what I noticed the new version will constantly have broken bolsters in less than a year.

I am interested. I have a few questions:
1. what do they weigh each?
2. will they fit in an SC?
3. if will fit, what will the slides cost and what slides needed?
thx for your help!
Bob

Bob,

I didn't put one on the scale but figure 25-30 lbs

Yes they will fit an SC

Slides, from what I understand from others you can reuse your stockers.

Just a guesstimate on the weight. I will tell you though that they are definately lighter than the stock manual seats.

Any lighter and you will need to go fixed mounted on a cf race bucket.

Thatcher,

Are you a Recaro dealer?
You seem to sell way too many new Recaros
If so, I can see why you would feel inclined to feel this way.

Fact:
On the new Recaro seats "made in Mexico" is printed right on the box and I even believe somewhere on the seat. My friend bought a new pair and it was made in Mexico.

Fact:
The earlier version (the ones that I am selling) are 1" wider.
Recaro made the later seats skinnier this way probably to fit them in to more Hondas. I have physically compared and measured them side by side.

Fact:
The earlier version (the ones that I am selling) being slightly wider and having a different designed outer lower bolsters (not the high pointy ones) will tend to be easier, more comfortable to get in and out of the car, with out rubbing or crushing the pointy part of the bolster while doing so.

Fact:
The later version seats have a much thinner center cushion. So besides being less comfortable. There again will be more wear and crushing of the outer bolsters as you drag your body in and out of the car. Hence why after normal use they don't tend to hold up as well over time.

Sure if the car is never driven and you weigh 135lbs and completely lift your body over the pointy part of the bolster it will hold up. But in real life who fits these criterias or does that?

In my personal opinion I have always preferred the earlier Recaro seats than the later. That's just my opinion. I mean even the A8's that you have, those IMO are much better and nicer than the Sporster CS Hybrids you plan on replacing them with. Those seats are just plain Fugly looking and belong in the bridge of the U.S.S Enterprise.

I don't want to make this into an open battle between my seats and the ones you sell as a dealer.

Yes, I am a Recaro dealer. But I don't openly advertise new seats on this forum. I just make it known that if someone wants any Recaro seat, I can get that seat for them, and I can offer a discount on brackets and sliders and sometimes on the seats.

That is not true. I have never seen "made in mexico" on any recaro box. I just opened up a brand new Speed out of the box and Mexico was not printed anywhere on the box or on the seat.

Again, wrong. SRD's are actually 3" wider than Speeds in the upper bolsters. SRD's have 24" wide upper bolsters, where as the Speeds have 21" wide upper bolsters. The other difference is the top of the SRD is more stubby than the Speed.

Very slightly different, correct, but they are the same width on the lower bolsters. They are neither easier or harder to get in and out of.

I also prefer the SRD over the Speed. I've owned two sets of each. As well as the A8's that I currently have in my GTI. I have another set of SRD's going into my Corrado.

This is in no way a competition. I am a Recaro dealer, you are not. Recaro sponsors one of my cars. I have a close relationship with Recaro North America. I don't advertise new seats on this forum. I'd be willing to help you out with a set of seats just like I would anyone on this forum.

Are these still for sale? If so will my seat rails off of my 85 Carrera Sport Seats work with these seats? How firm is your price?
