Pics from PORSCHE RENNSPORT REUNION at LIMEROCK!!!
Well, needless to say, the Porsche Rennsport Reunion was the single most impressive car event I have ever been to in my entire life. The Porsche Factory/Museum in Zuffenhausen was just a warmup compared to this day of racing and gawking at Limerock Park in Connecticut. I saw everything from a 1948 356 to a 959 to a Carrera RS 2.7 to a GT1 to a 917 to a replica of Dean's 'Little Bastard' 550A Spyder (that picture didn't come out
). I even saw one of the head guys for ROAD AND TRACK staring longingly at the Rothmans Porsche 956s and 962s... although I am not entirely sure if it was Thos L. Bryant or Peter Egan... it was one of those two.Well, without further ado... ![]() That is my 944 with some other cars. My uncle Curt's Mazda MX6 - which has seen some track time at Limerock - is parked to my left. ![]() Of course, with all these Porsches around, my Uncle Curt gravitates toward the only Ferrari in sight. My friend Chris is admiring the 348, and my girlfriend Jen is off to the right. Notice the nice RS America to the left. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More to come... |

I know a couple of those weren't Porsches, but I think a Ferrari Daytona and a Ford GT40 are worth a picture... they may not be 959s, but I would take them.

Yup, those red ones were 924 GTSs. And that 993 with the tiger stripes lost the biggest of the day's PCA races to... a 944. The blue 944, number 55, took top honors of the day's PCA races.

It was pretty amazing seeing all those 917s (see above), 956 and 962s in person.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That last picture breaks my heart (and Brumos Porsche's wallet), but racing is a dangerous sport and these are the consequences. All in all, I'd say there were only 5 crashes all day (no one was hurt, thankfully). Well, I hope you all enjoyed the pictures! |

WOW! Thank you so much for sharing those pictures! Is this an annual thing? If so, I will have to deft. take the 10 hour trip to check it out.

Hey, you got my car in there. 8'th picture down from the top, silver 944 just slightly up and to the right of center.
I didn't take nearly that many pictures, and i don't have a digital camera, so i'll have to wait until i get them developed. I'll try to scan some in and post them, probably towards the end of the week. Mike |

Does that blue 944 that won the club race belong to Woody Weiss?

I was there Friday. As far as I could tell, I had the only n/a 924 there. What a great time! The countryside on the ride there couldn't have been prettier and the people there were friendlier than I expected. Here's a pic of my car at a reservoir down the road from Lime Rock where we stopped to stretch. Can't wait till the next one!

Diesel, I did see quite a few 924s... most of them were meticulously maintained.
Mike, that's awesome that I saw your car and didn't even know it!!! You're from Avon, right? The trip up there was a great prelude to the event itself... as we got onto Route 7, the line of cars that I could see in front of me was as follows: Red 911 Carrera (1980s) Black 993 Carrera Black 993 Carrera 4S Red Pontiac Fiero GT Yellow 993 Turbo S Black Ferrari 348 Spyder My Uncle's Red Mazda MX6 My White 944 My Friend's Olds Cutlass Red 'early' 911 (901) It was simply amazing. Another thing I learned after the fact was that one of the most dangerous-looking accidents that we witnessed during the race - a 935 slamming into a sideways 914 - involved actor Paul Newman driving one of the cars!!! |
