I'm glad Marc is on this one *now*.
July seems ages away right now, but I was planning the 1st Round-Up for about 9 months before the event. Check those threads. Marc is planning a fantastic weekend of driving and entertainment for us inhabitants of the Rainforest.

Alright then,
Maybe some more info. will help. We'll be overnighting in Hood River, site of some of the most spectacular wind surfing known to man. The route will be from the Seattle area, around the back side of both Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. Day two has us leaving from Hood River and driving up through the wine country, continuing northward with maybe a stop in Leavenworth.... The date of the Round Up is July 26th and 27th. There is a limited number of rooms available so when the time comes acting fast will be advised. Carry On.

HELLO
Ok I am still alive for those of you that were wondering. I have been away on training and am just starting to get settled into my new city/job. I am going to see if I am off for the 03 Roundup I would LOVE to be able to make it. I will have my starter fixed by then (went kaput on the way home from the Roundup 02, so we had to push start
)Anyways hope to see all those who attended 02 and hope to see many new faces too. Lets just hope it is on my days off, as I am on the BOTTOM of the totem pole for seniority and vacation time. Shawn

I would love to make it, but my 2003 twin tykes will be arriving in April. I don't think the wife will let me sneak away for it, and I'm pretty sure a twin stoller won't fit in the boot.
![]() We'll see anyway.

I've got my room booked in Hood River.
Can anyone recommend a good Hotel in Seatle near the meeting place for Friday night stay over? Thanks in advance!

How about SCWDP shirts?
Does anyone know if the paved road continues to White Salmon from the U turn at the "Y" yesterday on the Three Mountain Tour? There are several Hotels on 405 in Bellevue that would be close to Issaquah as well as the single Holiday Inn in Issaquah. I'd call the DBL Tree in Bellevue. |

![]() Or are you refering to '03 Rain Forest Region Round-Up shirts? On another note....can someone tell me the route the Tri-Mountain Tour took? I'd like to compare it to the route we have planned for this years Round-Up. TIA Marc

While Marc is in total charge of this years event, I did put the bug in his ear about having some shirts produced. SCWDP soldier, Gary Carlton, did make some nice ones a while ago, which we snapped up.
Last year, a Pelican member who was not even associated with the event, made some very nice graphic designs for the Round-Up. I hoped to have some shirts made using his designs. After polling the registered entrants, there seemed to be a lack of interest in the shirts, so I custom-made just one each for my wife and I. Then, most everyone wanted a shirt. Go figure!!

Might be fun have a few extra shirts made for the tour and trade them for other designs that show up? Short version of Tri mountain: 167 south form Renton, 410 east, 166th, Riverside drive, McCutcheon Rd left on to 162..162 thorugh Orting Orville Rd E to Electron, Eatonville. Hwy 7 to Morton to HWY 12 to 131 to Nat. Forrest #25 to Iron Creek Pinic Grounds. N/F Rd. #76 to Tower Rock, Cispus Rd, N/F Rd #23...........to the Y and a U turn. I "think" Nat. Forrest Rd #23 or 25 goes through to the Columbia near White Salmon but haven't driven it yet...anyone know for sure and the road condition. Forrest Service LE folks on this section yesterday. Federal Speeding tickets SUCK! Back the way we came to Cline Rd and Hwy 12 to Packwwod and around Rainier via Cayuse Pass and home. Last edited by rdane; 05-04-2003 at 05:19 PM.. |

The Round-Up route will go the route of Cayuse Pass on the way down...also National Forest Roads #131, 25, 90 and 30 into Carson. Over the "Bridge of the Gods" and then east into Hood River. Sunday is reserved for the 5 pass, 300 mile loop through north-central Oregon high desert. We'll probably reverse the first day route going home on Monday morning (perhaps less police presence on a Monday too).
I'm planning to pre-drive the first day route with a couple of fellow Pelicanites on Sunday June 1st. Anyone who is interested in going on the pre-drive or attending the Round-Up....respond here or drop me a email/PM. Edit: P.S. I barely have time to pre-drive....certainly don't have time for shirts (I've heard how much extra work is involved)....that said, if anyone wants to shirts please....be my guest

Just booked my rooms for July 26 and 27. Just a heads-up, for the night of the 26th, it sounds like the Best Western is getting pretty full already.

If you guys want to move on the shirt thing let me know as soon as possible. The minimum order would be 24 for screened shirts and 6 for embroidered. Turn around would be about a month from you giving me the design to you getting the box of shirts.
It is the least I can do as I cannot make the trip.

OK guys, we need a design. I'm partial to the design that Doug had last year but we certainly need to switch out the SC for a Carrera
