These are located immediately to the right of the wiper motor (you can see it there on the right).

The one with the 5 connections is the interval relay and the other (6 connections) is the wiper follow-up relay.

This is for the 1970. I don't know what model you have and if it's the same.

By the way, the most probable cause for your wiper issue is a bad ground. Check the ground off the wiper stalk on the steering column. Make sure it's grounded well. It sounds like this is the problem since two different circuits are not working.

I guess your fuses are ok.

Just for info, the '70 model is the only model year that used these relays to control the wiper motor. The wiper motor itself, and the control switch on the steering column, are also particular to the '70 model year. I am parting a '70, and have these items available. I don't know if the relays work, as all this was removed from a roller before I had a chance to test the system all wired together.

There are a couple of threads some where on this forum that address the '70 wiper motor issues. If you do a search, you can probably locate them, if not, maybe I can help you find them.

thanks all, yep the fuses are ok, I have swopped the relays around in the fuse box but still no go. the rear wiper is no go as well. I will check the grounding where ever that is. by the way the car is 1986 3.2 right hand drive.
again thanks.

SLR,

Sorry, but somehow I tracked off and thought your question involved the '70 model since you didn't originally post the year of your car. I'm afraid the '70 model wiper configuration was unique and won't resemble your set up at all.

I have access to the wiring diagram for the Carrera, but don't know when I will be able to find the time to research your wiper control wiring. The fact that your rear wiper is inoperable suggests that there may be other problems.
