Fuel stabilizer
Hi,
I own a 2000 996. It is kept in an unheated garage. I only use Sunoco high test (93 octane ) gas. I do not drive it in the winter months so it sits for periods of time. I try and start it at least once a week and bring it up to temperature. This doesn’t take a lot of fuel. I have a full tank of gas. My question is this. Is it necessary to use a fuel stabilizer? If it is what is the best kind to use? Thank you for any information from anyone that has a opinion or recommendations Tim |

Does that Sunoco 93 have ethanol in it ? If yes I would recommend using a fuel stabilizer . When you say you start it and let it warm up does that mean it sits there at idle for 10-15 minutes ? That's one of the worst things you can do . Either drive it or don't start it until spring . Just my opinion .

Agree, only option is to drive car and bring up to operating temp. Idle for 10-15 minutes is bad news!!!!!

Yes you should use fuel stabilizer if the fuel sits for more than a couple of months.
