what's so special about the hardi fuel pump?

I replaced the broken fuel pump on our 1969 911T two weeks ago with a regular suction pump from a german manufacturer named Huco. (the car has webers, and only one fuel pump in the engine compartment)

Here in belgium, porsche specialists ask around 500 EUR for a replacement fuel pump for our car. I paid 60 EUR...and the car rides perfectly!

what could be the reason for this outrageous price difference?

thanks,
jan

Such is the price of originality. The Hardi pump is the correct one for a late carbed 911T, and the supply of them is probably finite.

The carburetors don't care where they get their fuel flow and 3,5 psi of pressure from . . . cheaper pumps mounted up by the tank on the steering crossmember might work even better, pushing fuel through the old pump for "show." Grady Clay was the genesis of that idea. . .
