That will be a badass motor, one that should put lead in any pencil. What do ya think HP numbers will be with the correct fuel/exhaust options?
To me sounds like a quick setup, one needing the correct application, but probably badass if used corectly. What a killer.

Crap! I'm so sorry to hear about your situ, Dan.
Guys, Dan is a great guy, and I know he took great care and did his research to get to this point. This is an excellent deal. I wish I could free up the cash to buy this from you. Dan. Maybe I'll find a way if someone doesn't run away with it. |

I am not a potential buyer, so if you want me to delete this I will. But I don't get it and it might help if you sell your engine if cleared up what exactly you have. Right now I am not sure if you have the long block assembled and the materials for the rest sitting to the side. Or if you are selling a long block only without intake and exhaust. I am really sorry to see someone having to let go of a dream engine like this one. I am sure you have more than $5500 into it, particularly if you include all the work you have done. Best of luck. Rich

Hey Rich..I thought that my description was a bit sketchy...The engine is assembled to the point of having the pistons& cylinders installed... The remainder of the parts ...cam towers, heads, sheet metal..etc., etc... are to be included in the sale..but aren't on the engine..Hope this helps..Souk.. thanks for the kind words..Dan

So, the heads need to be worked to add the second plug? Are these the large or small port heads? Did you do research on what the best cam would be, or how aggressive you could go?
Sorry to hear about the divorce. I hope you get to keep the SC with the 3.6 motor ![]() ![]()

Brad.. My original intent was to sell these heads(3.0) and buy a set of 3.2 heads with the proper port size..and add for the 2nd plug..I had Talked to Henry Schmidt about building the heads..He said it would be cheaper to use the3.2 s.. rather than hog the 3.0s..Hadn't gotten to the cams ...was going to use Camgrinder(John Dougherty)Brad thanks for the kind words..About the SC it will probably have to go in order to keep my house...Dan

I am in the middle of a rebuild, and the attention to cleanliness is an obvious indication of the care that has been taken to this point to get this engine together.
Best of luck with your personal situation.

Hey Don,
Not to dispute you, but I've been told by a VERY reputable engine builder that boat tailing the cases really doesn't add any measurable HP? Same applies to mooning the cylinders I am currently building a race motor and was going to do it but after speaking with him, was not going to spend the time? I am just trying to understand what works and what doesn't Thanks Jeff |
