Pristine 930 - 480 HP/525 TQ - G50 - Beautiful Condition

Well after a very turbulent 2007 after I spent 4 months living in the hospital with my wife dealing with the pregnancy from hell, we have decided to sell our hotrod 930. This car is an ROW car that never did duty in Europe, but instead was imported directly to California by a Bay Area businessman that wanted a real Euro-spec 930. I am the third owner and the car has lived in the San Francisco area its whole life.

The car is in excellent cosmetic condition and could easily compete for a PCA "Wash and Shine" title (in fact it won one of these the only time it was entered).

The engine is amazing - it was pulled and shipped to Imagine Auto in Kansas City a few years back to get a full performance build by Stephen Kaspar. Details of that build are:

3.4 Ps & Cs
Blue printed engine
993TT hardware (rod bolts and head stud IIRC)
Ported and polished heads
Twin Plug electromotive ignition
SC Cams
K-27 7200 Turbo
Flowed fuel head (remeber this already has the desirable ROW 930 fuel head)
Andial Fuel enrichment (somewhat unnecessary with the flowed fuel head, but we left it in place)
Polished Kokeln IC
GHL Headers
Mille Miglia Exhaust (very nice)
Apexi adjustable boost controller - etc, etc. (I have all the records for this).
We easily have over $25K into just the engine build alone.

We never run it at over 1 bar, but the engine is made to easily handle this. The turbo, however, is maxed out in this application and will only reach about .9 bar at peak power. I figured this is a good safety feature as you literally cannot overboost in this setup. The boost comes on as low as 1300 RPMs and is quite linear. A bigger turbo, such as a K27 HF would likely get you another 30 HP on the top end. The engine was built to make the transition to EFI should someone want to push up to 600 HP. Personally I think this would be insane, but HP and sanity are mutually exclusive. Some details on the engine build and the dyno sheet can be seen here: best way to 400 (reliable) hp

This car, in this configuration (actually, before we went to the 5 speed G-50) saw a few laps during a DE day at Sears Point (Infineon). We were running massive rims and hoosiers and you could easily spin the tires coming out of turns in second gear if not careful. Not sure what all the guys with the 600 HP 930s do, but this is enough power for me. The engine is bone dry, runs Mobil 1 synthetic, is up to date on maintenance, and usese a quart of oil maybe every 1500 - 2000 miles (it has held constant since the rebuild).

Transmission:

Not long after we got the engine dialed in and had essentially a brand new high clamping force clutch installed, the transmission failed. The 4 speed was fine with the engine, but the clutch effort was very high and not fun in traffic. So being insane, and already having dumped gobs of money making the ultimate 930 (see "other goodies" below), I decided that a hydraulically assisted clutch would be the way to go. So I had a custom high HP G50 built up for me using parts from Powerhaus in Arizona and assembled by Jerry Woods Enterprises / Smart Racing in Campbell, CA. I had custom gearing done using a larger R&P to make the lower gears taller as with this amount of power standard G50 gearing is too low. The tranny also has a Quaiffe LSD. Please don't ask how much that cost - I have the receipts, but don't want to add them up. The transmission is almost brand new - maybe a few thousand miles on it - and has a custom pressure plate / clutch setup from Patrick Motorsports (good guys, and a good source for clutches, throw out bearings, etc, for this application).

Other goodies:

RSR Coil Over Suspension with welded in rear strut tower support
The Racers Group adjustable sway bars (these do make a little noise at slow speeds)
Elephant Racing Finned oil lines (very nice)
New AC lines, receiver/dryer, lower center dash vent, and an underbelly AC condenser (we recorded 28 degrees at the front vent - see this thread: underbelly condenser: yeah or nay?)
Rod Birch custom 911 stereo system
996TT 18 inch hollow spoke rims (you really need to run larger than the stock 7 x 9 fuchs with this much power)
Complete tool kit, owners manaul, a copy of the shop manual, etc.
New rotors and pads all around
Recent valve adjustment and oil change

Undoubtedly there is a bunch more stuff I have forgotten. I have owned 7 different 911s over the years, and this is by far my favorite. Here are a few pictures that I have handy:

The color is Stone Grey Metallic with a Burgundy full leather interior with factory sports seats. The last 2 911s I sold (my 71T track car and my 87 Carrera) I got some flack from people for selling for too little, but I don't want to mess around on price too much and I prefer to put some cushion in the price for the new owner to deal with any little issues they may find. So I would like to get $49,500 for the car - which means the car is free, you just pay for the upgrades. The car is with one of my mechanic friends right now as he is helping to sell it for me. We have about 76,000 miles on the car, about 20 - 25K on the rebuilt engine, and only a few thousand miles on the "new" G-50 transmission and clutch. Please PM me if interested.

P.S. - this is a 1986 930.
