1970 911t
I bought this car primarily for the engine. It's been sitting in a barn for three years. I thought about restoring it but as my wife pointed out, I don't have a place to store it and I have too many projects at this point.
O kay, so I've decided to sell again. It's the chassis only minus the engine. $5,000 OBO The Good: SC look S Front spoiler Whale tale Rocker panels and rear bumper Fiberglass rear flares Bosche H4 Headlights MOMO Seats Steering Wheel Shifter Reflective Porsche lense 4-point autopro racing harness Carrera 17" Wheels New carpet Kit Rollbar 901 Transmission(Although I've never seen it run) CV shafts Racing Headers and a stainless steel muffler I can also include the 225 MM clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. (Pull style throw out bearing) These pieces were new 3 years ago when the car was last run. The Not So Good There's some rust as indicated in the pictures so it would need to be resprayed. The interior is gutted. The PO was going to make it into a track car but never finished. There is no heating system. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Ericv; 03-08-2009 at 04:07 PM.. Reason: Decided to sell |

I spent two hours underneath the car today. This is the first time I looked underneath. There was some surface rust near the front drivers floor pan. Ironically, the rust was from a three metal patches that had been cut out and replaced. But, the PO did not protect the new metal he welded in so it began to rust. I scraped all of the rust away with a wire wheel on my drill, primed, and undercoated. There was also some rust in the front trunk and underneath. The same process was applied as the floor pan. Anyway, the chassis is still for sale and this is a bump.

I stripped all rust bubbles with a coarse wire wheel and primed. I also finished stripping the rust from the bottom of the vehicle. These spots have now been undercoated. The engine is complete and all I have left is to replace the seals in the 901 and add gear oil. The chassis is still for sale. Someone please buy it so I can finish my 914 conversion. This is the token bump.

70T Rolling Chassis
I thought I'd post some pictures of the work I've been doing on the chassis.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I stripped the areas with the rust bubbles and applied a coat of primer to protect. The areas photographed underneath the car is where I stripped the surface rust with a wire wheel, primed, and sprayed two coats of under coat. |

Here's some pictures that were taken this weekend. I installed the carpet kit and it came out quite nice. The other two pics is a before and after shot of the rust under the pedal cluster.

Here's some pictures of the front calipers. The before picture is of the rear calipers. However, the fronts looked similar when I took them off of the car. The piston cylinder walls have been honed and the rebuild kits should arrive from Pelican tomorrow. The calipers were sprayed with a self etching primer and then painted with caliper paint.

The front brakes are rebuilt and mounted on the car. The rears will be rebuilt by the end of this week. The master cylinder and pedal cluster are remounted in the car. I've started body work on the front hood and driver's front fender. The chassis is still for sale.

Rear Seats
Lately, I've been cleaning around the engine compartment. I discovered the original paint is conda green. When I get the car resprayed, I might go back to the original color. I got my dremel and cleaned the bottom of the rear seat pans. I sprayed with self etching primer and followed up with under from SEM.
![]() ![]() ![]() I also cleaned the transmission, replaced the seals and painted. Here's some more pics... ![]() ![]() And finally, I pulled the oil tank. I degreased, cleaned, primered, and painted. It's too bad, the original color of the tank looked like copper. ![]() ![]() Here's some pics of the seat pans. ![]() ![]() |

Progress
Here's some pics of the body work I attempted. It was my first time. It still needs a little sanding to make it smooth.

I sanded the paint on the exterior and found why some areas were bubbleing. There's some rust in the front light bucket and the front quarter panel. I attempted to fix the rear left corner where rear windshield is. It came out o kay but needs some additional attention. At this point, the chassis is a project that I would like to get rid of. I have another unfinished project and it's taking up space.
I put an engine in it and it ran late fall. The transmission shifted through all gears and I repacked the cv joints. The gas tank was pulled in the spring and treated with an acid etch. I then used KB coatings to treat the inside of the tank. The brakes have been fully rebuilt and a new master cylinder was put in the car. Realistically, the car needs an engine and to get it running. As you can see, it also needs body work and new paint. Make an offer, I'll consider anything reasonable. |

1970 911t
Here's some pictures of the car in it's current state. I have attempted to fix some of the rust issues and have sanded the paint. As you can see, the right headlamp bucket should be cutout and replaced and the left fender would need to be fixed as well. I still have all parts that were originally pictured in the beginning of the post.
