Asking Price?

Well, After considering a 308 and driving a Lotus Esprit (Test drive) I got in my 86 944 na, and felt quite frankly that I was in a big paper weight. I still love the body and handling, just so freaking slow from a stand still. And I mostly do city driving.

Ive decided to sell it and look for a 951 as a comprimise.

How much should I ask for my na?
108,000 Gaurds red. Body in perfect comdition
(expcept for 1 small place that can be fixed from a rock chip)
Paint is in real good shape, shiney.
Its an automatic
Black Leather with Sport seats, Showroom condition. No cracks, tears or rips
16" Polished Phone dials (16x7 and 8)
AND Im including 15" Phone dials with new tires.
Tbelt needs to be done in 10K
everything works, except radio
AC is ICE cold
Power seats, windows, roof

Mambo,

I have a red 86 NA w/67K on the clock. Just did the TB/WP, interior perfect, and the exterior has the usual door dings and the original paint looks ok. If I could get 7K for mine I'd sell her. Yours looks great, even with the polished dials. I've been looking at 308s and Esprits for a long time. Lotus would be my hoice, but i just bought an M3 because all the deals on Esprits got snatched from me. Plus, the M is a 4 seater and more reliable. A 951 would be a good choice too and will replace my NA.

Looked in the Auto Trader, around here, in poor condition thee going for around $4000, real nice about $6000 and Perfect just under $9000. Not many dealers, mostly personal.

I was thinking $6000 neg.
And including the extra set of dials ( almost perfect cond with new tires, 15x7 with 23.3)

But, I know the markets are regional. And Pricing Varies greatly.

Id pay 7k for a well taken care of 944 na, but thats just me.

I've read that the 308's 0-60 is 7.8 seconds, only just a hair quicker than your paperweight. Did the car feel lighter than the 944?

It probably just because mine is an Automatic. Feels real heavy, but when I look up in the mirror, everyone is WAY back after the light goes green.

7k seems pretty steep for a non 'perfect' low mile N/A ..and even then. I would say more than 5-6 max. But I think you will really like a 951, and won't feel it as a compromise. It really makes N/As (especially an automatic) seem very very slow.

Im sorry, I was going to start at $6000. ($7 was A typo.)

Id say the car is an 8 out of 10. Super clean and tight, not many rattles. No dents (except for minor on hood and a door ding, qoute to fix was $75)

Ive seen decent 944s for 2-3k around where i live. I really cant see myself spending more than 4-5k for an excellent n/a. Anything more is 951 territory.
