3.3 930 article search

Hello I am looking for an early 3.3 litre turbo article from either Road and Track or Car and Driver. Wonder if anyone can scan and show this.

Thanks

I have the articles but my scanner is broken! Try Brookland Books and also search for Porsche 911SC & Turbo Gold Portfolio. Well worth buying as they have all the period road test reprints.

I've scanned an article but I can't get it small enough to post and large enough to read. PM your email address and I'll send it to you.

But those tester guys don not have much good to say about the car.

Yeah. I remember that article. One of the most negative reviews I recall ever reading about a Porsche. I think at that time most journalists were focused on the 944 and 928, and believed that those cars represented the pinnacle of performance because of their excellent balance and accesible performance.

It's funny, looking back now, the 944 and 928 began what I would call the perfecting of the performance car and the resultant loss of character. In the '80s what Porsche did with the 944 and 928 was virtually impossible. Now that every manufacturer can turn out perfect cars with accesible performance like widgets, we yearn for those cars that take time and skill to unlock.

I think the 0-60 time speaks for itself, besides this is a stock car. Some small changes will fix many of their complaints.

I haven't had one person get out of my car after a quick spin and not say it's the quickest street car they've ever been in.

I tell people it does 0-30 in 3 seconds and 30-60 in 1 second. Probably not far from the truth.

you could probably post it here now that the image size has been increased... I would be interested to read it too. Thanks!

I have all the old car and driver, motor trend, road and track, and porsche books from the late 70's and early 80's on the turbos. But no scanner. Let me know if you need more details/specs. B

I still can't upload the scans. It's 168K and it says my limit is 100K?
