Regreasing door opening mechanism

I have purchased some of appbizs door panels, very pleased with the products.
But as im now coming to fit them does anyone know the best grease to use to refresh the door opening, the passenger side in particular need a very firm pull to open, either from the outside or the inside.

Has the passenger door gotten worse with time? Lubrication helps, but only a very small bit. IMHO most Pcars have stiffer actions from their passenger side door stay because it has been used less and has less wear. New stays are very stiff. If the problem is intolerable (often is with newer stays), some folks choose to grind off a bit of the friction portion of the stay.

Sorry my post Is'nt too clear, Its the door latch that is stiff not the hinges.
It feels as if the inner door handle is going to snap before the door unlatches.

Sorry Kevin..my mistake
That is usually caused by either alignment or lubrication. The doors sometimes begin to sag a bit over time affecting the alignment. You can determine if the alignment is the problem by simply opening the door and rotating the latching mechanism downward. it should latch. Then just unlatch it as you usually would with the outside handle. If it still binds, the problem is not alignment. Note that the part of the latching mechanism that you rotated by hand is actually a flat part rotating on a shaft. It will usually help a lot to lubricate where it rotates on the shaft...just on the backside where the rotating portion meets the stationary part. Just work the mechanism back-and-0forth a few times to work it into the joint. Any quality grease will work, but keep in mind that you will able to smell it inside the car if it is odiferous, so choose accordingly.

Just tested latching/unlatching with the door open and its definatley an alignment issue, so thanks you saved me a lot of time there.
will still lubricate both sides while I'm there though.
Cheers.
