FS: 3.2 Carrera Bolt-On Turbo-system...

Folks, I'm selling this bolt-on stuff for a US Spec 3.2L Carrera Motor:-

- Protomotive "J" Pipe (for an on-the-side turbo configuration)
- TiAL 40mm Red Anodised Wastegate (0.5bar boost spring)
- Mille-Miglia 930 Stainless Steel Twin 4.5" Tip Muffler
- K27 High-Flow Turbocharger
- Custom post Turbo plumbing to mate with above 930 muffler

The system runs only 0.5bar for ~340-360HP, or 0.7bar Intercooled for ~400HP.

Buyer needs to source a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator & re-mapped DME Chip.

$2.5k USD takes the lot!!!

Do you know how much they are charging for the chip only? The turbo isn't an HF is it? Anything other than listed that would have to be sourced to get this up and running? Do you or do you figure that Protomotive would supply an instruction manual? I'm quite intrigued and just read the 8/04 discussion last night about the Jpipe and "on the side" offers. Would any of these be convertable to a true header setup later or should I just wait for funds? I know your answer is influenced by motive of selling, but I've never seen you short of upfront.

Thanks for reading.

Luke, if you have an existing Protomotive CHIP, they'll re-program for $150. However, if buying a new one, I think it's around the $600 mark or so. PM me for more details if you like. I may be able to help you get it cheaper from Todd.

If you want to convert to a true header system later, there's no problem doing that. Just take off the OEM Exhcnagers and J-Pipe and fit the headers and interface it to the K27HF and 930 S.S Muffler. It'll be a pretty simplistic upgrade to go to headers later when you have the cash.

Frankie60, I'd do the K27-HF and Muffler for ~$1600.

Porscheboy, meet me at $2300, and it's all yours .

Not sure to be honest. I'd guess around $300, but would have to weigh and approximate dimensions to get a quote.

Cool, thanks Mike. Are the chips the 24 or 28 pin Eproms?

Converting the 24-pin DME to 28-pin is no big deal. Exchanging the data between 24-pin and 28-pin Eproms is not a big deal. I can assist.

When you say "buyer only needs..." do you really mean that if I can get those two things, I'll have everything I need to convert my 84?

Obviously this isn't a day job, but my questions are:
Do you have instructions?
How difficult is the conversion?
Given my quesion above, is this a complete kit?
What's the regulator go for and do you know of a source?

Thanks

Shaun

protomotive sells a rising rate regulator at a rate of 3.82psi per pound of boost and vortech makes a rr regulator at 4 to 1 at half the $ of the protomotive one, the proto one is arround 400+ dollars than all you need is a chip for the setup which i can help you out with.

Shaun, obviously you also have to source:-

- Air Filter
- Clamps
- Silicone Bends
- Plumb the Turbo outlet to the Air Flow Meter inlet.

Then you need an appropriate CHIP for your DME and the Rising Rate Regulator ssetek mentioned above.

The conversion is very simple. Just ask Mike the mechanic and ssetek how simple it is

Also, if you want to intercool the setup, you have to have an Intercooler fabricated and plumbed in accordingly. No big deal though.

Will throw in high-perf Air Filter & custom Intake Pipe from filter to Turbo compressor.

Buyer just needs to plumb compressor outlet to Air Flow Meter inlet.
