OT - R1100S ride report "Mt. Diablo"

Thought I'd buzz up and down Mt. Diablo to round out the day yesterday around 3pm. Chilly and foggy here at home; expecting colder and clearer up dere.

And we're off...

Thar she be.

Oh well. 6 miles of suffering will be worth it once I get to the top.

Where I came from.

Where I be going...

Sun's getting low. Light will be good. Fog bank down low.

Scenic!

Damn! Good thing I brought the twistie-getter...

That's my girl, Elke.

How's the weather in Jersey?

You know, I pull over from a lot of fun stuff for you guys...

Notice the tankbag, Gromit?

Sorry about the view being obscured today, guys.

Made it! 3,849 feet high. I feel like Sir Edmund Hillary...

Might as well take a look around while I'm here...

On the way down, now. Overexposure brings out the bike and makes an interesting effect...

After a nice ride it is recommended to get a little latte...

And good donkey bikes deserve a treat, too!

Dats it...

Thanks for sharing the trip! Brings back some good memories from many years ago.

My only two-wheel experience on Mt. Diablo was in the '50's when a friend's mom drove us to the top with our bicycles in the back of her station wagon. Turned us loose for the return trip which was a hoot for a young kid on a bike!

That's a fun ride Steve that I've done a few times. It's just little too slow. It's great for taking in the sights though. Good photos.

I saw a tarantula up there one time. On this ride a large coyote trotted across the road. Before I had a chance to decide if it would be safe to stop and take a pic, he was gone.

Need to do a ride report in the Berryessa region...
