First pics new BMW...but what is it?

Take a look at these bikes...wheels, forks, etc are BMW but what kind of engine is that...looks like a K1200S minus two cilinders (so a 600cc with 80hp?)
Massive frame, belt drive...apparantly BMW is planning more new stuff.

Remember I informed you guys here about half a year ago that BMW was going to bring out a 800cc standing twin with about 90 to 100hp?

This is it! (Have to say I don't like the front that much. Maybe It will have to grow on me a bit?)

The other thing I predicted was the R1200S, the specs, the looks. Watch this space, spy pics will come out soon!

Interesting. Note that the red one has a belt drive like the F650CS. I do believe Rob is correct. The engine looks like a new K-S engine, but note that there are only TWO exhaust headers.

So, it could be a 2or 3 (siamesed exhaust) cylinder, with a belt. Also seems to have conventional telescopics. Looks like an F650 replacement to me.

That looks like a real shot of test mules to me. Hopefully that's just disguise bodywork...

Note that gas cap is on the side of the rear right panel on the red bike. That is exactly where it is on the F650 which says to me that the black space under the seat is the gas tank.

My question is WHY CAN'T THE SPY PHOTOGRAPHER BUY A DECENT CAMERA????

These spy photos are always crappy-grainy. With digital cameras so cheap now, anyone can take an excellent hi-res pic. This guy needs an upgrade. He could have at least rolled down the car window for chrissake!!!!

Nope no photoshopping;-)
Just an image from the Spanish magazine Motociclismo...the front will change because it is disguised; you can see there is an extra part over the fairing. Funny thing is they call it a TRX (which has a standing twin)
My guess is half a K1200R engine (which has been mentioned in the German press)

Pro'lly phone camera.

BTW, I really hope they don't come out with a R12S too soon. I really like my R11S and would hate to have to agonize about the new/improved R1xS in the near future...

I doubt it's a phone camera. The resolution is better than I've seen from them, plus there's a shadow from a lens sunshade in the pic.

The way I look at it, the sooner they bring out the R12S, the sooner there will be 0.9% on it...

We only assume that it will get better looking. Hey, can you make the rear fender just a few inches longer on mine?

Those bags look like Randy's old S turn signals. I wonder if they were having trouble with them popping open.

All kidding aside, it could be a nice bike. It just doesn't do anything for me yet.

The blue one has a GS-style pipe and rear tailight.

Too bad we can't see the 3rd bike. It's the yellow one just peeking out from behind the blue one. Maybe all three were variants on a theme?

That's no big deal. When me an my buddies ride we all pull into a pump facing every which way and then pass the nozzle around. You just make sure the hose doesn't drag on your bodywork.

I am sure the body work is just camoflage cladding.

Ah..now I know why Americans don't understand the TRX thing.
In Europe Yamaha had a "sportsbike" with the TDM engine in it which was called TRX...so if they are using this 'alias' the engine should be, like Rob says, a standing twin.
Mmmm...belt drive, 80 hp and lightweight should make for an interesting bike...let's wait for the price

So after Hugos posting, all tht we really know is that it has BMW side bags.

These could be Yamaha test mules.

Doubtful that they're Yamaha test mules.

Check out the wheels - look like K12S wheels & the gas cap looks just like an F650

You know they call the Yamaha TDM the "Tedium" don't you?

Just kidding. I like the thumping pulse of the F650GS just fine. I am not sure about going twin. I'd go R1200GS for twin trailblazing.
