FS: 2.4T MFI motor
Good solid running motor, pulled 2 weekends ago. 105k miles, no rebuilds. Needs tensioners rebuilt (kits included, this is why I dropped it) and a new high pressure oil line (hydraulic shop can make you one for $30 with your old fittings). Perfect for 914-6 conversion or would plug right back into another pre'74 MFI 911. I found a 3.2 though, so this really has to go now.
'72 motor, type 911/51, number *6123487*. Compression was even and leakage test was 8% on the worst cylinder a year or so ago when I bought it. It drips from a couple of spots, but new oil lines will fix all but two of the drips I know about. Oil consumption is fine. I dropped it two weekends ago to rebuild the tensioners (one of them is starting to drag) and have found a 3.2 for it instead. This is a good solid and complete running motor that was in a driving car until two weekends ago, not a core that’s been sitting under someone’s bench or in a barn for 5-10 years. Upgrades include: Points replaced with a crane optical trigger (still uses the stock 3 pin CD box), turbo lower valve covers, new Dansk sport muffler, all of the MFI is there and working, new cold start lines. It needs a new high pressure oil hose from the tank to sump since the one on the car needed replacing at the time of the drop. I haven’t done the tensioners yet, but the kits go with the engine. Auction also includes fuel filter console and the MFI fuel pump. This is everything you need to pop the motor into another car. Also included are my copy of the Bosch CMA manual, my MFI adjustment tools, and a Gunson gas analyzer. If you've ever wanted to delve into the world of Porsche MFI, this is your chance! Gearbox is a stock '72 915. I cant get to the serial and type numbers, but its out of the same numbers matching car. Shifts the way it’s supposed to, nice, no grinding. Desirable short ring & pinion (7:31). search my old posts. every problem Ive had with the car has been documented and fixed through this board. shoot me a PM with a phone number if you want to talk about my motor. Damn......
That's a smoking' deal. (no pun) Sherman, you're killing me. Monday is property tax day and Fri income tax is due. No spare money this month. And nobaody buying any of my stuff. ![]() Listen up you guys, the fuel pump alone is over $400 (way over) and the MFI sells by itself for nearly a grand (yes, T MFI). Yikes! Even a muffler is worth a hun. |

Thanks Milt. Even though its priced like a core, this is a good complete motor. The tensioner rebuild kits go with it. Should be good for a lot more miles after that. The DAnsk is obviously new since the paint isnt burning off yet
. The Crane optical trigger and the turbo valve covers are another couple hundred bucks worth of upgrades. Motor runs great. Fuel pump is fine and, yes, they are expensive to replace. Maybe somebody over on the 914 board wants it for a -6 conversion

If I could have found a deal like that, I would still have my race car. But after 2 blown 4 bangers, I was through.

Sherman, if it falls through, let me know. I'm considering a 2.8 for the E and corresponding with Grady, it seems I could use this as a base.
