Unhappy Oil pressure Problems! Thinking about selling.

Ok, so i was driving yesterday and my OP dropped and the '!" light came on, i managed to pull into a parking lot and shut the car off. I had it towed home. I have started it up and it read zero OP and then i cleaned the leads to the sender. I started it again and i had pressure, but it was all over the board indipendant of revs. I drove it about 1/5 of a mile around the neighborhood and the pressure dropped to 0 again. I shut it off and pushed it home. The car ran fine the whole time and there were no real sign of problems.

I figure it could be the releif spring or the sender unit.
Or, it could be the pump going. If the car was run for a while (1/5 of a mile) with a dieing pump would that be enough to damage the engine? If so whay would i be looking at, mains - rod bearings, pistons, ect.

And Last, if the block itself has - or - will gone bad what would my car be worth if i wanted to sell it?

115,000 Miles: New Saches Sport Clutch with 180 miles on it, new Lindsey 3" with 180 Miles on it, GURU chip, 3 Bar FPR, Reliaboost at 13psi, Everything BUT rods, bearings, and pistons replaced within 180 miles. This car just underwent an 8 month replacement process. Balanceshafts, water pump, belts, mounts, ect, ect, ect.

I'm just tired of the whole old car thing and until i have more time and money to put into it i just cant do it. I loved that car but now isn't the time.

Thanks for all your help.
-jamie

You need to stick a mechanical gauge on the sender port and check it for sure. You may just have electrical problems.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Yeah, if the car ran fine, its a sending unit wire problem. I had a similar issue when I got my car back on the road after doing the oil cooler seals. Turned out that on of the wires simply came loose. At first, I freaked out.

Just park the car with your wheels turned all the way to the right - you can reach them without even bothering to jack the car up.
