356/912 Get together in Melbourne

I know that this is early, but for any of you lovers of the early cars, the 20th Annual 356 Parade will be at Como Park, South Yarra in Melbourne on Sunday the 27th of November. There will be over 100 356's on display as well as some 912's, early 911's, modern cars from PCA and what ever the factory brings out for this years Classic Adelaide. If you're in the area come and have a look. I've attached a pic of last years event to whet your appetite.

Stuart - yes i'm doing Adelaide. Wouldn't miss it. We'll be in the grey 356 cab.

Adam - it's a 356 Register event not PCV. There should be more info on 356.com.au closer to the day.

Erwin - Websters usually have a few cars there including the 356 with 911 running gear.

As this is getting closer and I'll be away from the PC next week driving around the Adelaide hills with Ryan, Nick and Stuart, I thought i'd give this a little "bump".

i looked at buying the open wheeler special next to the spyder in the foreground of that pic. (2nd from right)

alan hamilton built it - i think using a formula V chassis with added body panels. it was first logbooked with a 356 engine, then a 911.

pretty cool bit of aussie porsche history but i couldn't work out where it would race in historics so i passed

can't really remember what he was asking (guessing 12k, 15k??? )

i do recall that the car had no engine, possibly no gearbox either

Thanks Ryan, a Porsche based special would be very tempting.

Erwin, cars usually start arriving at Como park from about 10am. Make sure to come and introduce yourself. Mine will probably be the only slate grey car on the park.

Hi guys, we have the annual Day of the VW at the Yarra Valley Race Course on this Sunday also. But I am thinking about dropping in on this one too before I head up there. Are non Porsche but Porsche powered cars welcome?

Greyn57, you're more than welcome to come and have a look but I'm not sure if you'll get your car on the oval. They do usually have a few splitscreen combis and a couple of early 911's and 912's there so you might be able to just bluff your way in. Give it a go.

Nice link Erwin, pity you couldn't make it. There was officially 103 Porsche 356's at the park on Sunday as well as Peter Haggerty's RSK 718, 904 and Carrera Speedster, and Ian Henderson's 906 and Carrera Speedster. The wish list got longer . . . I'll post some pics later in the week.
