Pelican parts pity party for pokey planing
Some of us Los Angeles south bay area have kicked around the idea of meeting and with pokey's (Mark)recent misfortune with his car I offered to buy him a beer.
I have shyed away from meeting folks on the BBS because I'm a little afraid of being the "old guy" in the crowd but WTF that which does not kill us makes us stronger. I work Saturdays so I can't do anything in the afternoon on that day, I'm thinking we should look at an evening get together so we don't have to worry about everyone's work schedule (except for those who work evenings) So who wants to join in and what evening works for you? Also options on where to meet, Mark and I have kicked around the idea of Hooters on Pine St in Long Beach. It's a fun place and they have some good beer on tap. I use the parking next to the joint at $6. There used to be validated parking behind the place but it is now a construction site. Maybe someone local know of better (cheaper) parking options. Other possibilities are Belmont brewery, San Pedro brewery, etc. Any ideas, input, volunteers? Scott

I hate to say this when I saw the first picture in this thread I thought it was a photoshoped joke. As I read on I discovered it was very real. Amazing he walked away from this accident.

Pokey, I would have liked to go but NY to LA is a bit far for a cocktail. I hope you are making headway on finding out who did the H&R on your 44. Let us know via posting if you have a break through.

Okay Monday looks good, Somewhere in Long Beach, if you guys throw out some suggestions I could even post a poll if you want to get all democratic and $hit.
All of the places I posted are restaurants (even though two of them have brewery in their name) and you do not have to be twenty one to get in. If you don't drink alcohol for legal or health reasons I for one will not be bothered. I am free all of Monday so afternoon is open to me also.
