Borla catback

linkage

This product is fairly new and I was interested how it stacks up to say a GHL or B&B muffler. Any thoughts feedback? I couldn't even find a sound clip of it on the Borla site.

Check out fabspeed, I think they have some of the best products right now. They even sound nice.

I already have. The Boxster exhaust looks and sounds alot like the Dansk sport muffler(because it is) which is to say it sounds alot like a stock system. Quote under the fabspeed muffler section on their website....".and that is why we import Austrian/German TUV approved exhaust systems for the Boxsters regardless of profitability." Fabspeed just marks up the price a couple bills. You can get the same exhaust here for $900 instead of $1,100. Click on part # 421-311

The fabspeed exhaust for the 996 however sounds awesome!

According to Fabspeed they are not the same unit, may be just marketing nonsense as you suggest, I don't know.

Yeah, I remember you saying that you contacted them and they said that but the the facts don't add up. They admit that they source them out of Europe and if you look at the Dansk sport exhaust pic I supplied I don't think there is any doubt. That's not a bad thing because Dansk makes awesome exhaust parts plus they are the oem supplier to Porsche so you know it's going to fit right. Problem is the exhaust is almost as quiet as a stock system. I think Fabspeed just tries to separate themselves from Dansk because if people new the truth they would save money and buy elsewhere. I can't say I blame them, they need to make money to and I like alot of the products that they offer.

I am looking for a quiet muffler that will ad a little hp. Last thing I want to do is attract attention while I am driving the car 8/10th's somewhere. Sounds like I will look into either of them. A couple hundred bucks isn't a big deal to me, So either place sounds like they would be a good buy.

Since we are on the subject, anyone ever put in cat bypass pipes? There are some ponies to be had there I am sure.

I too have been busy checking on a deeper sounding tone for my Boxster but without much luck. I'm a stay at home dad with two special boys and way to much time on my hands! Anyways it seems that most of the high performance folks only deal with the Boxster S model mine is a 2.7. My budget is running out fast as in the past two days since I bought the car, I've already ordered new tires, bra , rear wing (mild style), sportster humps, and a tonnue cover. My local muffler shop said they could hook up a set of flowmaster and tips for about $350. but I'm not sure I want to try that without talking with you folks first, what do you guys think?

Flowmaster on a Porsche? lol. Does flow master even make a boxster specific muffler? Don't let them install a mustang exhaust on your car.!
