WANTED: factory special tools;
P37 for holding the drive shaft when tightening and loosening the castellated nut on the bevel pinion and drive shaft
P135 for tightening and loosening connecting rod screws
P251 for removing pinion shaft stretch bolt
P253 for removing the gear pack at the intermediate plate
P254 for installing and removing the bearing outer ring of the pinion shaft and drive shaft from the transmission housing
P255 for removing the roller bearing from the pinion shaft
P256 for holding the drive shaft when tightening or loosening the hex nut
P257 (2) for removing the roll pin from the differential
P258 for adjusting the pinion shaft
P258B supplementary kit for P258 for adjusting drive shaft
P259 for measuring backlash of teeth
P261 for adjustment of differential
P263 for removing the bearings at the differential housing
P264 for removing the bearings at the differential housing

VW244B for installing the drive shaft seal
VW401 pressure plate support for pressing
VW402 press adaptor
VW405 press adaptor with V-block
VW406 V blocks
VW407 pressure tool
VW409 pressure tool for assembly work on the gearbox
VW412 pressure tool for reassembling the differential

Have you tried Zelenda for the VW tools? www.zelenda.com

You should be able to use a dead gear for P256, and you can make P37 by welding a couple of arms onto a used-up clutch.

HI Jerry, I can have made the P255 for the pinion bearing, the diff setting tool has been superseded to VW385, unless you can find one someone is not using , have you the Epco press for the press tools (vw412) , if not you will have to make a adapter to fit them into your press. VW401 is expens$$ve, I can send you the drawing for the plate, if you have some one to cut them out, from this lot you are going to repairing 901/911 boxes.

I have factory 385 setting bar in plastic case missing some trace pins and magnetic pinion target plate like new will send pics if interested. Tom balto. Md . tjl502man@aol.com
