1987 924S in Seattle, needs a little love
I'm just trying to gauge interest to start with, so I haven't nailed down a price yet. I definitely need to sell, though, so it will be reasonable. Make me an offer!
*The bad news* - there is a bad ground somewhere. At first it was just eletrical gremlins, now there is no power in the cabin and the gauges spaz out a lot. Headlights still come on, but they can be weak at times. I think the radiator fan still runs consistently, but I'm wary. Sliding sunroof opens, but does not close (can be closed manually). *The good news* - it still runs like top, engine feels very healthy. The best shop in town (gerber motorsport - britwrench's shop) has given it a clean bill of health except for the electrical issues. 1987 924S. Black. ~118k miles. 9k miles and a little over 2 years on timing belt new (< 3 years old) kenwood CD/MP3 players New radiator (9k miles) Tires have roughly 5k miles on them FR Wilks chip (you'll get you the original chip as well). This chip rocks. Aftermarket round throttle cam - makes the pedal response feel a little zippier. I think I lost the original cam, but I might be able to find it. Exterior is in decent, but not perfect condition. A couple minor dents, no real scratches in paint. Interior is a little worse - tan cloth interior with some tears on the seat and few stains on the carpet. Has the original deflated spare tire and I'll throw in the aftermarket tire pump that I put in it. Lotsa recent work with reciepts. All recent work done at Gerber Motorspot (run by britwrench from this board). I have a list of work done by the previous owner, but unfortunately no receipts. No pictures right now, but I will take some soon and get them up. If anyone is interested, post here or email me at card_goober@hotmail.com. I'm happy to answer any questions. This car has a lot of life left in it, but needs someone to put some real love into her electrical system. She's made me happy for a long time, but I just don't have the time anymore to devote to her. And before anyone asks, I won't be parting out this car. I don't have a place to store half a car, so I need to sell it all as one unit (and it is drivable right now).

Hi all. I've finally got some pictures. Unfortunately it was a cold day, so there is a lot of frost on the car. There is no corrosion on the hood - what you see there is just frost.
There aren't exactly glamour shots - I didn't clean the car first, and I tried to capture her imperfections (like the small dent in the left front fender) so there are no surprises. Cleaned up, frost-free, and with better lighting she'll look much better. As you can see, it's actually got 119k, so you can add 1k miles to all the ages I gave in the original post. There's one other "bad" I forgot to mention in the original post. The handle to release the hood has come loose, and the cable that it pulls on came off some sort of pulley. I haven't spent much time playing with it, but I wasn't able to get it to release the hood. You can see this in some of the pics. (all these pics are clickable thumbnails, btw, the originals are much larger) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
