Talking My car is being painted!!!

I handed my car over to the body shop today!

Pics of the car right before we loaded it up. I was glad to find the car would start right up without any complaints.

Here's Rocky who's going to be doing the work

And here's the car on the trailer...

I'll post progress photos as I get 'em!

Britt

Can you take some pictures during the repaint and after. Always fun to see the results (and cost)............

I'm going to get photos from Rocky throughout the process, I'll post them here when I get 'em...

Rocky painted the Synergy Racing Porsche on the back cover of a recent issue of Excellence (it was a Performance Friction Brakes ad)

finally, progress!

Here's a few photos from the shop. We're hoping to have the car back together for a PCA car show on 6/10.

Studs were welded to the various panels and pulled out to fix the dents, the body filler is just a thin skim.

The yellow stuff is a guide coat to help them block the paint.

The glass is all out.

I'm stopping out there tomorrow morning to get more pictures.

Man from the pics I take it you gave them the car on 03/24 and it took till 05/22 to get primer on it? Lord I am so impatient I would have trouble waiting on Chip Foose and the Overhaulin crew to get my car done.

They started working on it on 5/15. The shop got slammed with unexpected short notice race car work which slowed things up. They finally hired another guy to do my car.

All the progress was done in 1 week. Thats all the dents, final stripping, glass removal, and such...

Maybe I missed it, but what color is it going to be? Is it a color change or is it the original color? What, if any changes are planned for it?

same original color, light Ivory. (which it always has been)

The changes are the removal of the dents! This is a keeping it stock project.

I'm going to keep the interior unrestored to keep that "old car" feel that I like, rather than restoring the whole thing to perfect.

If I hadn't busted up the door when I spun it, I might have put off the repaint for a long time...

Okay, now I remember Britt. You had the post on the "Trailing-Throttle-Oversteer-vs-Ditch" situation. So this is sorta the silver lining in the cloud, huh? You get a full respray. Kudos for staying with the Ivory. It'll look great.

I stayed with the priginal color on my Mid Year car too and am happy I did.

Make sure you post your in progress and final pix. Congrats, Dan

Went out yesterday morning and took some pictures of my own. The car is really straight, they've done a fantastic job, I'm psyched.

Here's the formerly caved in door! It's perfect!

And here's another beauty shot

I wouldn't say he works out of a mud pit, it's a shop with a gravel lot around it...

it is out in the middle of nowhere...
