Lightbulb What did you pay for your 911sc?

Out of curiousity I would like to see what you paid for your SC. I am actively looking for a 911sc myself and would love to see what you guys paid for one. Please post a picture too.
Regards,

Kurt

Thread on how much people paid for 911's

Not SC specific but the following links has prices to give you a feel:

How Much Did You Pay?

How much should i expect to pay for a 911? (newb)

And the mother load...

How much did you buy or sell your 911 for?

Search and you will find my friend...

BTW, I snagged mine for $5,700 in Richmond, VA... Still can't believe it.

Paid $13k back in 2003 for my '79SC Targa when it had 125K miles. Great shape overall but just did a clutch job three weeks ago.

I paid $11,350 last year. 82 Targa with 82k miles. Its a nice driver. I would say I have put in around $3500 since then, not all of which was critical stuff. Biggest chunk was $1800 for clutch+1st/2nd synros and some general tranny lovin...(get yer mind outa the gutter ya perv.)

Funny, I bought a boxster 5 weeks ago, and yet even with the sunny weather here, she has sat in the garage all week. Boxster is a great car, but my SC....she's like comfortable pair of blue jeans.

They are great cars.

In 2003 I paid $7k for a 78 coupe that had a fresh engine and newer trans. Paint and interior were shot though. No matter what you pay initially you'll have 20K+ in it before it is where you want it. These cars are old. If it hasn't been done, no matter what "it" is, it will have to be, and soon. That said, it's worth every penny! Cheers

I paid 7K for mine in 2004. It had a fairly recent trans rebuild, a ratty interior, some paint flaws, many little problems and neglected areas, many poor previous repairs and cob jobs.
I ended up rebuilding the engine, new clutch, new interior including headliner and window seals and a whole lot of other stuff. I have put about 7K into it thus far.

17K five years ago for my black on black with leather interior 83 Cabriolet with 62K miles and all the standard upgrades except the pressure-fed tensioners. Texas car with zero rust, PO was a lawyer and the car maintained by the mechanic who built his race cars.

$20k. Yes, it's a lot, BUT I found a one-owner immaculate inside-and-out '83 with 58,000 miles, already had the tensioner upgrade done. I wanted an SC because of the 3.0L 'bulletproof' engine. It was FAR nicer than some newer Carreras I had seen, I haven't regretted the cost one bit. Other cars come and go but this one they'll have to pry from my cold dead hands.
Since I got it: new lugnuts, repainted the wheels, H4 Euro headlights with pedestrian bulbs wired up, new clutch, 930S steering wheel, new speakers/indash CD, turbo tierods, R134A conversion (all but barrier hoses which are going to happen this summer), Lloyd mats, rear 'deck' (over folded down seatbacks) mat from R&S, gutted the catalyst, Dansk exhaust... all a labor of love.

10K for my 79 with 72K miles back in 2001. Car was in decent shape, but paint was cracking on one side. Turns out it shortly after needed a tranny rebuild and clutch, about $3500. Did a few rust repairs myself, including front suspension pan, which was pretty rusted when I bought it, but never realized the importance. (Another $500). 101K on it now, and it runs like a champ.

$8900 back in '95 for my '80SC Targa - I traded my first P-car (a 77 1/2 924) plus cash to get to the 8900. Owned it for 9 years - great car, miss it a lot, and now kinda wished I would've just put some $$ into it and kept it rather than trading it.

Oh well.....bygones.

Paid $12k in November 2004.
It was a little dinged when I bought it but thanks to cosmetic damage from construction site: varnish splatter ($3K) got mostly new paint.
Car previously had a new clutch, Tensioner and POP-Off upgrade.
Also came with SSI and Dual exhaust and Short Shift Kit.
It's required only regular maintenance and a new battery.
I have removed the A/C which was intact but not working.
Car has run great and though it was the first SC I drove I think I got a fair deal for the area...

I paid $10,500 for a 1980 SC back in 2001. Car had 107,000 miles, excellent condition with maitenance records from 1983-present. The car did not have a chin spoiler or rear spoiler when I bought it.
