Porsche 911 engine 2.0 #900129
For Sale:
The right offer gets this running engine. You know what it is, and you know what it can do. NO, it is not a $1000 dollar engine. *Few visible mods include Webers. Check ebay as it may be headed there SOON!

Do you mean this is a less than $1000 motor? That desk fan thing is scary.

Interesting. You might advertise this over on the S registry also, your chances of finding the man who owns 300023 (the car this engine came from ) are better.
Where did you get it? Do you know where the car is?

It looks like there are 4 posts on the distributor cap. Is that right? Any more/better pics?

I bought the engine form an old racer, but he was into 356's.
It had been sitting, or rather stored neatly indoors. It turned over, and the Mrs. stood behind us commenting on what a screaming engine it was. We bought it for the fan protector! ![]()

I can confirm that this beauty was stored clean and dry, and that they guy that built it could really get some juice out of an engine!

it doesn't present as that clean
probably will present and sell better if it were cleaned up a bit. regardless. do you have any compression, or leak down numbers that would show this to be more than a core? or that it might be a runner? are the carbs loose in the shafts or tight. thanks for your time. brant

however you often find used engines that are kept constantly clean by the owner/seller and this can impart some sense of knowledge, pride and care for the seller. I think my cleaned up comment was more about showing that this motor's condition is realtively unknown. And that facts, numbers, descriptions about the carbs and other valuable items are going to sell this motor serial numbers are nice, but that doesn't tell me diddly... about wether this motor is a $300 core of scrap metal, or a good running motor that doesn't smoke too much and can be bolted into a car and used as is. even with serial numbers, it would make a LOT of difference in value. I wouldn't offer over 1K for practically any core motor (well maybe a twin cam -4 motor) I'm out.. sorry for the hijack and sorry for venting.. good luck with your sale

uuuhh, you might want to remove the Fan protector "mod". Like mentioned above numbers aren't everything, for all anyone knows that "S" case is full of broken, worn out "T" parts which would mean its not worth much. Or It could be a screamer motor that some hack put a fan cage and some sloppy heater block off plates on.

Its not an S case. Its a 1964/5 production 130hp sand cast case early 2.0 engine. Also has its center lube cams in place. As for running ? Well I would question that. Maybe 10 years ago. Without the carbs its easily worth $1k . The case and crank alone (if good) are worth $1k.
