72 911E for sale

1972 911E Targa, # 9112210260, with matching engine # 6220577, paint code 917, yellow. "S" appearance options and gauges. Drivers side sport seat with matching black corduroy inserts. Both seats have factory 3 point seat belt mounts (not the belts themselves) Factory steel front spoiler.
The car was original delivered to Lisbon Portugal but has been in Southern California since 1981. It comes with the original tool kit and jack as well as the delivery documents and service records.
The paint is very poor quality respray. The car has a little surface rust but the bottom metal all looks original. This car doesn't appear to have had any big crashes--although it certainly did have a small shunt on the rear bumper as documented with old insurance photo's from Germany in 1977. The doors fit good but the hood is considerably off at the front. The seats have some rips in the vinyl. The infamous map pockets are present but need TLC. The carpet is worn out. The dash has a fingernail sized crack. The headliner is sagging. All the glass is Sigla, with an intact Welt Meister sticker in place.
The car starts, idles and runs decent without smoking It accelerates well and shifts decent. No records of an engine rebuild, but I can’t be certain. It leaks a bit of oil but not a disaster. It needs brake work before it can be driven around.

Summary: A relatively rare 911E in a good color and year, with a desirable sport seat and spoiler, a little worn, but complete and honest...not terribly molested with records. The registration is about 1 year out of date, but it has a clean title. The car is at my shop in Southern California.
