hi wayne.

e36 saloon 4 door, 1996 318i se

i've had my complete drivers door replaced as the car was broken into, but since then the window is trying to go up too high, putting loads of strain on the regulator.

yesterday, the regulator snapped, so i had a new one fitted.

in your guide you mention some window stop screws to adjust the stop position of the window...i really need to adjust the upper stop position. could you be a bit clearer on where to locate these screws please.

or, do you know any other methods? it is really only about 3mm that is it trying to push the window up...but that is enough to almost bend the regulator arms and twist the inner metal door skin.

p.s. one-touch works fine, open works fine, all other windows works fine. comfort-close via the drivers door key has stopped working since door was replaced (any ideas on that?)

its a similar problem except on my passenger door the window wont go up far enough, it stops at the beginning of the weatherseal for my top and just stops there and it leave about a 1/4 inch gap

could it be the swich in the door that tells it to go down that 1/4 in when the door handle is lifted?

Tools required

Is a tool required to install the bushings on the new regulator? What size allen wrench is required to remove the attachment on the arm?

Thank you!
