1988 Carrera Reluctantly For Sale - $13,500

Reluctant sell of my Black on Black 1988 Carrera, 230K. I have owned the car for the last five years doing lots of highways miles to see my girlfriend in Sacramento and commuting from San Francisco to San Jose. I have also on and off auto-x'd the car with the PCA and SCCA with great success over the course of ownership.

The car has been set up to be a driver with many updates including 17 x 7.5 and 17 x9 Fikse FM-10 Rims with brand new Kumho MX tires (225/40/17 in the front & 255/35/17 in the rear), adjusted european ride height, Bilstein shocks (heavy duty in front, sports in rear), turbo tie rods, AJ racing front broke cooling kit, Elephant Racing Triangulated Strut Bar, updated g-50 transmission fork and linkage, Momo Champion steering wheel and shifter, custom pedals, and OG Racing four point roll bar with Team Tech 5 point harnesses for auto-x. Recent work on the car has included, a new clutch with g-50 updates (at a cost of nearly $4000), new ball joints, new door checks and reinforcement kit, new alternator, new fuel pump, new distributor, repacked wheel bearings, valve adjustment, new injectors, new sunroof cables, and repair of previously non-operational rear defroster. Car was recently tuned up by Don's Auto Werkes in Campbell, CA and pulls hard to redline. I have all of the documentation for the last five years showing meticulous care and the use of only the best OEM and replacement parts.

Issues: The A/C will need to be recharged if you want it to be operational; the central temperature regulator has not worked for the duration that the car has been in my possession; one of the blower fans (center vents) is out in the ventilation system; brake pads will need to be replaced soon; the car has a small pressure wave in the drivers side door(easily fixed with paintless ding repair); and the car consumes oil at a rate of 400 miles/quart (admittedly high consumption but pretty standard with a higher mileage 3.2 engines; car has never had the engine apart).

A great price for a g-50 Carrera with great aftermarket rims in the most desireable color combination. The car is exceptionally engaging and is a thrill to drive each and every time. Feel free to contact me via PM for more photos and info.
