Since the first and sometimes only question on virtually all the PM's I've received is about mileage I'll add that here, which should drastically cut down on the number of PM's I'm getting.

The mileage is...are you ready? Maybe you ought to be sitting...

218,XXX and counting.

I cringed as I typed that...just so you know.

That's right, it's the dreaded high mileage car. Here is your chance to run, don't walk, while you still can...

You're still hear? Boy, you ARE a hearty soul!

OK then, more information:

Clutch and top end have been done once each in all those evil miles. At around 90-100K I think. G-50 clutch fork update has also been done.

The paint is original and in good condition except for a few rock chips on the front valance. Body gaps are all consistent and the car has never been hit that I, or the prior owner, know about.

The interior is in good shape. No rips or tears in the seats (one very small pin hole in the drivers seat, left side on the bottom by the hinge), door panels are in good condition, original carpets have been stored for the last 14 years and go with the car. The dash is crack free.

The car is basically stock except a SS GHL catpipe. The original catalytic converter is available and in good working order.

The Targa top was re-skined last summer with a new headliner installed as well as the updated, extended clips from Pelican. Yeah, it makes various noises going down the road and leaks a little from time to time. It is a Targa you know? As you can see in the pic's the Targa bar could use a refinishing.

The motor has a couple of leaks. Most notably is the right cam tower to cylinder head that occasionally drips onto the heat exchanger causing some smoke. My mechanic suggested to wait until it needed a head job to fix the leak (it's part of the job) so that's what I've done.

The drivers side window is an un-cooperative S.O.B. that refuses to stay in it's track. Next time I have to door panel off I'm gluing the damn thing in (kidding, sort of). Passenger side behaves beautifully if not a little slower than the drivers side. Which I don't get as it's a newer motor.

3.2L motor pulls strong and my wrench said it had good compression on all cylinders last time I had it in the shop (sorry, the numbers were not documented but I may take it back to him for leak down and compression tests soon). When the prior owner did the heads he had Club Sport intake valves installed as well as the matching DME. All this really does is allow a higher redline (6800 vs. 6300).

G-50 tranny shifts smoothly and doesn't make any noise.

Suspension is all stock for an '87 Carrera. Bilstien dampers all around (of unknown mileage). I think it handles great and others that have driven it have said the same.

I've daily driven this car the last four years and it's been extremely reliable. Only once did it strand me and that was the typical DME relay failure. There is a new one installed and a new spare in the glove box.

I'm the fourth owner of the car and I have over 14 years worth of maintenance and upgrade-itis history.

The car is priced with the realization that a head job and a clutch will be required sooner rather than later.

Did y'all get that part because it's important.

The cost of a top end rebuild and clutch have already been factored into the asking price.

Holding steady at $13K obo.
