73 911e Fs

I purchased a 73 E (9113201248) from a very nice fellow a couple months ago, he is 91. The car belonged to his son, who, along with his wife, was killed in an auto accident 3 years ago. The son purchased the car in 1980. When I purchased, the car still had Michelin XWX 185/70/15. (i have sold the tires on this board). I was told that the engine was rebuilt in Indy shortly before his accident, perhaps less that 1000 miles. I have no documentation to support. It is obvious that recent attention was paid to the engine, as stickers are still present on oil return tubes, metal vent hose, new fasteners, Carrera tensioners, new SSIs... The car runs very well. I am currently working out a part throttle stumble, I am making headway. The car is silver, there is no rust. One thing though, the car was Ziebarted (spelling) long ago, where 3/8" holes were drilled into the drivers and passengers door frames, and plugged. I have no idea if this Ziebart is Voo Doo or not, but the car is in excellent condition with regards to rust. It will need a complete paint job, as the silver paint has checked. The dash is cracked, the windshield is cracked, (I have a replacement). Currently, the car has some flofit seats, but I have the correct 73 seats, not sport seats. The door pockets are crap, the radio is not working, but this 911 rips. Second gear synchro is weak, but not shot. There is an oil leak, but I think it is because the fellow I purchased it from topped up the oil tank with the engine not running. I am almost sure the leak is coming from the top of the engine, from the vent hose. He just kept pouring oil in the tank until it showed on the stick. The fellow I purchased from is definately a car guy, as he has an a model A Ford that he built in the museum in Indy. He was just unaware as to how to check the oil. I currently have 2 911 projects, and I cant afford to finish both. I have chosen to finish a 71T that I am stuffing a 3.0/webers into. I also have a 73 tii that I am 90% done with that is also in the $ stage. I am embarrased to say that I dont know how to post pictures on the s registry page, but I will post some on Pelican and post a link tomorrow. My email is woodsy142@yahoo.com my name is Bill Woods. The car is located in Paducah, KY.
