1966 912 for sale:

This is my cousin's car that I am advertising for him; it's in pretty well-preserved condition but the history is less than complete. He bought it a couple years ago from a collector and it has obviously been maintained and at least partially restored to a very high level. I am not going to represent it as 100%, (or any other percent), original due to the lack of records, but it is definitely close to 100% stock. It is a beautiful car; not show-winning quality but a solid 8.5 driver. IMO.

He is not a big Porsche expert, just a guy who buys cool things on impulse. We welcome any and all inspections or PPIs, and I may put the car on eBay if it does not garner serious response here quickly. I drove the car the other day, it was out of tune from lack of exercise but shifted like it has a brand new transmission, (5-speed), absolutely flawless synchros. The car also tracks straight and drives well w/ no suspension noises or squeaks/groans. It felt tight, in as much as a stock '66 912 is tight. (I am used to prepared 911s).

The car is located in sunny Minneapolis, MN. It has a CA. black plate on the front that I believe is original to the car. It does not appear to ever have been drivin in winter in its lifetime. The pan, floors and rockers are all 100% solid with no rust damage apparent anywhere on the car, but again I cannot represent that it has never had metal repair or restoration. If so, it was top quality work.

Following are some pics from 2 days ago, if interested please email or PM me through this BBS w/ a phone #. Thanks for looking!

Almost forgot, $10k keeps it off eBay. Otherwise we will auction it, but from recent eBay completed items I think it will easily get this amount. It is not a distress sale situation.
