FSOT: 1972 911T hotrod 3.2 swap
CAR IS SOLD
The Car: Base car was a non optioned 1972 T in highly desirable Sepia Brown. VIN is 9112102233. Currently registered and being driven in Louisiana. Never wrecked, bent, burnt, etc. I think Im the 5th owner. Mostly original paint with some door dings. Stock steel bumpers. The glass all has a greenish tint to it, but Im not sure if this is rare or not. Its not a garage queen, a concourse car, or an Excellence candidate, but its fairly sorted hotrod and it has no major issues. Its way too nice for a track car, IMO, but you could do whatever you want with it. Almost literally everything has been done on this car. I've just completed a clean 3.2 engine swap. The car has a brand new gearbox. Its a hoot to drive and it shifts better than any Porsche I've ever driven. I've got folders of receipts. Its just too much to try to list here in one sitting, but I'll do my best. Rust Repair History: Previous rust repair includes both outer rocker panels and the bottom wing of one of the front fenders. Driver's side door jam was replaced also. I still have the panel with the silver VIN sticker if you want it. These areas are the only areas on the car where the paint is not original. There has never been any structural rust anywhere on this car. The pan has never been replaced. There is no rust in the floors or back seat. The car is very solid. Existing Issues: -Passenger side front fender needs rust repair on the bottom wing. Perfect replacement section from a donor fender goes with the car. -Oil pressure sender is not matched to the stock numbered gauge for the '72. Its functional, but the pressure readings are 4-5x too high. -Speedometer is not hooked up -parking brake cables are not hooked up -license panel is installed, but it needs rear bumperettes And here's the fun stuff: Front Suspension: -Elephant racing poly bronze front bushings -Koni struts from a '73 S, re-valved w/sport yellow inserts -22mm solid Sander torsion bars -all brackets, a-arms, struts, etc., have been cleaned and painted -stock through body sway bar -turbo tie rods w/bump steer Rear Suspension: -Bielstein RSR coilovers, matched to front t-bars (either 225lb or 250lb springs) -Alloy trailing arms (from a '79) with new poly bushings, pressure washed and scrubbed before install -Factory adjustable spring plates (from a '79) with Neatrix -Solid 28mm t-bars also go with the car if you dont like the idea of coilovers Brakes: -Front Carrera slotted rotors and calipers -Rear SC calipers -new 19mm master cylinder -new MC feedlines -new brake hoses -new hardlines from front strut housings to front calipers. All rear hard lines are all new -(1) liter of Superblue and a Motive pressure bleeder is included Fuel System: -Everything is new or fresh and clean -new 3.2 fuel pump -restored SC tank -new lines from tank to front bulkhead, and from the rear bulkhead to the motor. I did not replace the lines through the tunnel. -all lines terminated with Oetiker crimp tool, like the old factory lines Engine: -'86 US 3.2 w/130,000 miles -Smokes a little on startup after it sits for a while. Runs strong no mechanical issues at all. -Engine has never been opened up -15k miles on current Clutch/PP/Throw out bearing -Autothority Mass Air with performance chip. -Fabspeed test pipe -Magnacors -Alternator is new -freshly powdercoated engine tin (black) and fan assembly (silver) -cleaned and painted engine bay -AC compressor, heater blower, and all related brackets are not installed but are all in good working condition and are included -No broken head studs or known leakdown issues, but this would obviously be checked during a PPI -Replacement expandable oil return tubes installed Oil Cooling: -Magic '72 oil system is in place -'72 oil filter console was machined and fitted with a new engine t-stat -Elephant racing finned oil lines -Elephant racing Carrera oil cooler kit w/stoneguard -extra '72 oil filter console is included Transmission: -freshly rebuilt on an SC case in May of '05, 2k miles on the box -$4200 in receipts for said rebuild, FWIW -WEVO retainer, gateshift -80% factory LSD -8:31 R&P -Gearset: (1st) 11/35 (2nd) 18/33 (3rd) 23/29 (4th) 26/26 (5th) 28/23 -brand new CV half shaft assemblies w/less than 50 miles Interior: -Carpet is mostly original and is in good shape -map pockets have never been restored and are in good shape -dash is in good shape, but it has the crack at the speaker grill -stock radio is installed, but doesnt work -WEVO classic shifter installed on a '73 shift tower -BF Torino Nurburgring vinyl-basketweave seats -MOMO Prototipo wheel with hub adapter -factory tool kit w/jack -original owners manual and some of the paperwork Wheels & tires: -15x7 Fuchs refinished by Al Reed -Yokohoma AVSES100 tires w/less than 5k miles on them -set of steel wheels w/hubcaps is included also This is all off the top of my head, so if I missed anything, please ask. Chances are better than good that its been done. Search my old posts for specifics. Every issue or mod this car has ever been through has been documented. Im posting an old picture of the car. Please contact me if you want specific pictures of the work that was done. I have stacks of receipts. PPI's are welcome and encouraged. Im on the road from Sun-Thurs every week, so I will get whatever pictures you want or schedule PPIs on the weekend. FWIW, Im looking to trade more than to sell, but please contact me anyway if you have guitars that you want to turn into a hotrod 911. TIA Last edited by Shuie; 03-01-2007 at 04:04 PM.. |
