17" Fuchs reproductions. On the car!

I am so pleased with the way they came out. They are not simply an "expanded" 16" wheel, but a beautiful 17" interpretation designed by a professional wheel designer.

The wheels are manufactured by ROTA in the Philippines. Rota has a large motorsports division and you'll see lots of Rota wheels on Subarus at the track.

The wheels will be sold by Subydude in San Ramon, California. Joe (Subydude) is a great guy and has put a lot of time and money into this project.

Updated ordering info 4/19/07

You can pre-order your wheels now. The pre-order price is $999/set with free shipping. Pre-ordered wheels should be delivered in mid May. After the pre-ordered sales are done, the price may go up a bit.

I. COLORS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER:

#1 - RSR finish - satin silver lip and petals w/ flat black inset (pix)

#2 RSR polished finish - polished lip and petals w/ flat black inset(pix)

#3 RSR flat black center - flat silver lip w/ flat black petals and flat black inset (pix)

#4 Royal Yamaha Black (gloss black middle w/ polished lip)(pix)

#5 Hyper Black - all hyper black

#6 Royal Hyper Black - Polished lip w/ Hyper black petals and center

#7 Unfinished. (painter ready)(pix)

(as we get ACTUAL wheel samples we will post them on our site, http://www.subydude.com/osc/product...c256e2772d6dfa5 )

II. SHIPMENT OF WHEELS

all wheels on all the pre-orders will be shipped out of California, USA unless you have made special arrangements w/ us.

III. Centercaps

we have already aquired orignal porsche caps that we will be painting hyperblack for the hyperblack version of these wheels.

WHEEL CAPS ARE NOT INCLUDED W/ THE PURCHASE OF THESE WHEELS.

we will have flat black caps (as seen on moses' car) AND hyperblack caps available for purchase when the wheels are ready for shipment.

III. CUSTOM COLORS:

a few people have asked about custom colors. for the first batch few batches of these, we will stick to the 7 color choices listed above. heh... if there is enough interest on a particular color, say "all gloss black", all i need is 10 people to say I WANT THOSE, MAKE A DEPOSIT. and it will be made!

WHEN WILL THE WHEELS GET TO THE U.S.?!

production starts next week so shipping of the first few batches will actually be in the US mid/late May.

first batch being made in the following:
#2 RSR polished finish
#4 Royal Yamaha Black
#5 Hyper Black
#6 Royal Hyper Black
#7 Unfinished.

2nd batch will be made in the following colors:
#1 - RSR finish
#3 RSR flat black center

any questions just email sales@subydude.com or PM us or call us @ 510 651 2956

Here is a link to some high resolution photos of our first day with 17" Fuchs reproductions.

It's hard to believe we went from a conversation to wheels on my car in 4 months!

Wow, Moses you are the man.

And for anyone wondering about Rota and Subydude, I have bought 2 sets of Rota wheels through Subydude for my MINI, they delivered on time and I was very pleased with their service and the wheels. A quality product from a reliable vendor.

Now to scrap together some money for a set of these wheels.

Those look like a much lower profile tire than I thought you could go to on a 17" wheel...What size are they.....all looks great.

These are Kumho Victoracer 700's

Front 225/45/17 (Wheels are 7.5" X 17")
Rear 255/40/17 (Wheels are 9" X 17")

Some folks may get a little tight with 225's in front. I'm not rubbing, but it's close. 215's are very safe, though.

Not yet, but take a look at the finishes made by ROTA. They can do pretty much anything.

4) Unfinished. (For those of you who want to do your own thing.)
Is the #2 finish (SC style) going to be flat black as well?

Just don't tell her. She probably won't notice.
