Niagara Wine Country Cruise June 9
Christien & I have been talking & we're attempting to put together a cruise. No, not a high speed run, but a cruise. Spouse safe. Boost on low, guys.
Saturday June 9 is the date discussed. Start would be in Hamilton/Stoney Creek area around 10 AM. Meander rurally to the Falls. Cruise the pkwy. Eat something/somewhere. End: 2 or 3 PM around St Catherines. Any interest? Ian Note: There might be an exotics run in the same area the same day but we'll run separately. TBD.

Let's see. Steve's new car is smoking! It's got a 2.7 putting out 230 hp, 5 spd tranny, lowered and stiffened suspension and a kick ass owner.
BTW, I found it for him....and Chris-- he said that you can take it out for a spin too....He takes possession on Wednesday and it should be out at the track on--- Now hopefully my car will be ready before the June cruise. We spent the day removing the paint from my engine tin so we could recoat it. Inspiring....

Well, yeah, its pretty much like Rich said. Felt fast yesterday when I took it for a spin, pretty solid car. Funny, I got an email from Rich about it Friday afternoon, called the guy Friday night, shook hands on Saturday with the owner after agreeing on a price, and suddenly 24 years of wanting one seems to have been fulfilled (I was 8 when I started lusting after a 911).

I'm a probable for the run. I missed the entire season last year as I was rebuilding and upgrading my engine. And going to wine country makes it so much easier to convince my wife to come.

So we're (optimistically) up to 6 cars . . .
I'l be away this week, but keep answering to this thread. I'll throw it to Rennlist next weekend. Any Niagara experts? We need a restaurant - casual & drop in style with parking - or a nice park for a basket lunch. Ian

Hey Kirk, and chance of Jane and the wee ones coming? I'm trying to convince Stef to come and bring Ramona, and that would surely help

Chris,
Jane could potentially come, but unlikely. As for the kids, the car seats won't fit in the 930, so............. We'll see!

I hadn't seen this thread and Chris pointed me here. As it stands I'm free on the 9th and looking forward to a run. Terry |

Picked the car up today, part exhilaration, part terror trying to get used to the 915 gearbox (not sure if its the usual 915 idiosyncracies, or if its a bit off, but will figure it out in time). My buddies WRX wagon looked like an SUV next to me, this thing is low.
My ex/current wife is apparently coming back from Tokyo on the 5th (whether I like it or not) and so she may very well be along for the cruise. She likes nothing more than sitting in the car watching the world go by, but whether or not she's up for this noisy, stiffly sprung Porsche is a different matter. Atleast I know she thinks they are "cute".

Doesn't your wife immediately become your ex after you buy an older Porsche?

Count me in too. The P-car needs to stretch its legs.
