jerry, if the oil return tubes aren't spoken for, I'd like them for my E. Are the O-rings good or should I get new ones?

BTW, did I tell you that you have an eagle eye? Both top threads have been helicoiled on my case. Have it upside down for safe keeping on the engine stand...also ready to pull of exchangers.

cris;
i'll have the check the top side of the driver side, but i think the vinyl is okay and could just be reglued. i purposely pictured the bottom side to show that bit if surface rust. $5 post to you. is it's over that, i'll cover it.
Shaun;
i would replace the seals. i bought these here a year or so ago, then discovered the real problem was the seal between the oil filter console & the tank. another thing to think about "...while you're at it" ? Christian ('a quiet boom' here) is the guy w/ the ALU insert kits. this is something everyone w/ a MAG case needs to consider. i found this on the Tech board under a thread Wayne started titled, IIRC, 'the dirty little secret about Timeserts'. (basically, the fact that steel and MAG don't mix that well) also, Christian's broken head stud repair kit is now available. replace broken head studs IN THE CAR. check this out;

A tail of burnt spaghetti and broken exhaust studs.

ANOTHER great idea for the DIY crowd. isn't this board great ??!!
cheers

Thanks Jerry, one quick question. Just looked up these on Pelican. I'll get the outer seals, think I need the inner ones too? Don't want to be penny-wise pound foolish, but also don't want to buy what I don't need...they are $4 each for the inners, 2 per tube.

I'll contact Christian about my helicoils and may have to talk with him about exhaust studs too...hope those come out nicely. turning into a much bigger project than imagined.

let me know how to pay your for the tubes.

S

Shaun;
maybe the best think would be to send these to you & then decide which ones you want? to be honest, i can't tell which ones are on there now and maybe they're actually okay.
fair ?
Steve;
sent you a PM w/ payment details.
thanks!
