I design different TShirts, sweatshirts and other garments for Porsche 914 owners and would like to ask what types of art or design would other 914 owners, like myself, want to see on T-Shirts or say jackets or other clothing? Thanks for any suggestions.

Who?
Mikez,
You must have the wrong John. I run a small Graphic Design business and do not "SPAM" any Rennlist. You should be more careful who you accuse of doing so especially on a BBS. If you are going to use the BBS post intelligent and relevant information to the original subject which in my case was simply asking 914 owners what designs they might like to see. Please think before you post. John |

Sorry to those who have to read the response of "Mikez" in my thread.
"Mikez" obviously has to resort to inappropriate postings to defend his mistakes. Not too adult-like at all and certainly scary considering he has posted over 2000 times on this BBS. Please be careful when accepting or exchanging information with "Mikez". As you can see above he does not have the ability to act or respond in a mature manner. People like this destroy the usefulness and function of the Pelican Parts BBS and perhaps other BBSs. Too bad. I am doing my best to contact as many people as possible on the BBS, including the Pelican Parts moderator to warn them about "Mikez". We do not need people like him. Regards, John |

Maybe a shirt showing profiles of different 914s...
Or in different colors Or a Worhol thing (ok cliche) the nice design that I think u did already, with a 2.0 liter in the bay? A pocket tee with the stylized 914 on it

Thanks
That’s along the lines I was thinking also. Primary colors etc. I ordered a really nice 914 Blue Print T-Shirt that I saw at http://www.designrefinery.com/914_shirt.html
That was a great idea! John |

Hey John,
MikeZ is talking about the right John for sure... He and quite a few other folks on RennList were less than happy with the repeated (and unsolicited) e-mails you send them about your "blue print tshirt" Judging the general consesus about that on the RennList, I think it has done your business more bad than good, so you might wanna rethink your marketing strategies for any other shirts you're gonna make/sell 8^) Cheers, Jeroen |

Nice!
First, you deny spamming the rennlist, then you say you ordered a shirt that you, yourself are selling. Get your story straight before trying to slam an out standing member (like Mike Z) of our little community. I have been known to do a little spamming myself, but I hope I contribute much more than I spam. Granted, your shirts look a little more upscale than my freehand painted designs (yup, gotta get a plug for myself) but your sales tactics need a little work. 914 tee shirt Oh yeah, honesty might work good for you too! Have a nice day

It maybe true that he never spammed Rennlist but many on Rennlist did get spammed. I've been on the 914 list for 10 months and have never received the t-shirt spam or the AA spam that people have reported.

Buy a list sponsorship, a rennlist membership or contribute in a way that shows you not out just to make a buck....and you can post ALL you want.
Until that time lose the "attitude", Junior....

I came back to my post to say I should have read mikez post above. I still want to see a flared 914 or 916.

Bad news....
John,
I also thought cars in primary colors would be a great concept. As Rich said I do not understand whats going on here.... Who is this guy David posting artwork in this thread anyway? I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 89 in New York and I have to say that this guy David's artwork is lame to say the very least and have no idea why he is posting it here at 2' x 2'. Roadglue.com
I was thinking that the 914 art on the roadglue.com site would make a great shirt. I really like the black and white silhoutte by Jeff Palsinski. I'm not sure what Jeff or the folks at Roadglue.com might think though. As far as Mikez response we all know him from this board and has contributed a lot to it. These boards let us all have our opinions. It is up to us to develope our opinions on the people who post them. My opinion is this you entered this space looking for advice to maximize your return on your venture, you are a guest. Your slam to his response was unfitting for someone in our turf doing market research. I would think you would be on your best behavior. I may have bought one of your shirts but your high handed "warning" about one of own has turned me fight off of buying any shirt from you ( except maybe the the silhoutte one)
Good Luck Dr. Berger |

It's 914 related, hes a board member, and he seems to have a real interest in the 914. He's doing us a public service by asking us what we'd like to see, in a place that we go to and can freely share opinions.
If he was indeed "spamming" lists day after day, or continuing to send non 914 related information to a 914 or Porsche list, I'd be the first to censure him. It doesn't look that way to me though.

Look, you spammed me, too. The only place you could have gotten our collective email addresses was the Rennlist.
Only once people started to complain on the 914 Rennlist, did shirts start miraculously appearing. You ignored people's request for status on their orders. Watch out for people like MikeZ? No, we need to watch out for people like you. Warm regards, Lawrence Lawrence "Rusty" Bonkoski Rennlist/PCA/914SIG Member (Are you?) PADI Divemaster #182564 http://www.highway914.net/ |

Sigh.... OK, I'm gonna have my say and then close this thread. (Including Sammy's accidental starting of a new topic.)
John, MikeZ is a long-time and well-known member of this BBS and others. He has provided useful information a number of times in the past, as well as providing CA cars for people unfortunate enough to live where the tin-worm lives. He is pretty well-known for his sense of humor and his willingness to say what is on his mind. He is not, as you may have noticed, always the nicest or most soft-spoken person on the planet. But he has been, and (at times ) continues to be a valued member of this BBS.I do not see a reason to ban him. A simple "BITE ME" is a lot more restrained than a number of things I have heard from him... And a number of things I have heard (in other forums) about certain marketing tactics... There has been quite a bit of discussion on the 914 Rennlist e-mail list from people who have gotten unsolicited email about the T-shirt from Design Refinery. Most have gotten multiple emails on the subject (I've gotten two), while some report as many as six. And some report none. As you may imagine, this irritates some people. MikeZ calling it "spamming the Rennlist" was not completely accurate, but since it appears as though the email addresses were harvested from the Rennlist it is not completely inaccurate either. Yes, he could have stated his case rather than simply getting PO'd. He probably should have, but that isn't MikeZ. When you step into a sizeable on-line community, you have to realize there are all types of people out there, and you have to have thick skin. As a final note--it is quite disingenuous of you to claim that you ordered from Design Refinery, when in fact you appear to actually be Design Refinery. So this thread will be closed as soon as my reply clears and I can hit the "close" button. --DD
