Audi e-tron GT Will Reportedly Debut In 2020 (UPDATED)

The GT was built to aim against the Tesla P100D. According to our British source, the EV will arrive sometime in 2020 featuring a similar powertrain to the E-Tron SUV. The focus will be on power instead of range. It will be on the same platform as the upcoming Porsche Taycan. We should see a production e-tron Sportback in 2019 and then following will be the the production E-Tron GT in 2020.

Source here.

First, lets admire what we know so far and what we can expect, cosmetic wise below. There's no doubt about its bold-look for an electric car with deep ties to the Porsche Taycan. It'll come with an 800-volt architecture that allows faster charging and ensures performance stays consistent. What we can really see is the more chiseled bodywork and busier front end when compared to the Taycan. With an estimated $100,000 price tag, this is definitely on my want list.

Still, we haven't seen the production version of the GT, so we expect some of its eccentricities to be dialed back. We do know that it'll have an electric motor on each axle that together create all-wheel drive and produce a combined 590 horsepower. While there's still a lot to learn about the 2021 e-tron GT, here's what we know so far.

the last photo of a GT40 is also cool!

I own a Gen 2 R8 Plus, a 2019 eTron SUV and a 2018 TT-RS. If the eTron GT comes in at $100 I might be tempted to sell the eTron SUV and get into a GT.

LOL, how'd that get in there!

That's one heck of a line-up you've got there! We have an RS3 in our stable that we absolutely love and are sad that the e-tron GT is out of our price point as it is definitely something to consider selling the RS3 to upgrade to! Albeit, we honestly probably will not sell it for a long time.

The Audi's keep good company to my 69 911S and my 78 SC-R.

haha! My husband honestly wanted the TT RS, but it just wasn't practical for the family, and I'm more attracted to the RS3 because it reminds me a lot of the B7 chassis. I really want to add an old 911SC to the stable soon.
